Alien Proof |
A spaceship glides into view: majestic, unmistakable, amazing technology
barely distinguishable from magic.
The aliens prove their superior intelligence to the world:-
1] They demonstrate a proof of the four colour theorem using a 5
dimensional scale model of the White House, in red, white, octarine and
hoolovoo.
2] They change Schrödinger's cat's litter tray without opening the box.
3] They demonstrate an understanding of one of the plots from The
Rockford Files.
4] They demonstrate a new economic system in which poverty is
eliminated, nobody is or feels exploited, wealth is distributed equally,
productivity is enhanced, pollution reduced, job satisfaction improved,
leisure time qualitatively enhanced, everybody gets an extra day off per
week and an extra hour a night in bed.
5] Finally, this is the killer, they demonstrate positive proof to the
satisfaction of everybody that there is no god.
It's fantasy isn't it? How could you ever manage to achieve point 5?
There is, surely, no possible scenario in which the religious would all
hold their hands up and admit “***** me, we were wrong!”
I can even imagine the odd soul floating up after a thousand years of
torment from a lake of burning brimstone in the Hell of some other god
and saying “you'd better watch out when (splutter, retch) Jesus hears
about this!”
The idea that faith is a good thing (absurd if you contemplate it for
one moment with the safety catch of your brain turned off) coupled with
whatever nonsense they want to associate with it is an unbeatable
combination. Being stupid, ignorant and irrational become virtues in an
instant. Black is white and they believe they are better people for
believing it. They believe their god invented morality and only
believers in their god can be moral and everything that is or could ever
be good is the direct responsibility of their god, and everything that
is or ever could be bad derives from the act of rejecting that god.
Is it any wonder that an idea like that gets passed on? It is immune
from logic and disproof and they regard spreading this poisonous
rationality killing idea as the highest calling a human being can have,
applauding each other for how far they are prepared to go to do it, and
reserving the highest praise for those people who put spreading that
reason-poison above their own life.
And they would like to make it immune from ridicule, humour and sarcasm
too. That is something we must be prepared to fight.

Rippie is a plagiarist and a manipulator, he regularly manipulates text
in newsgroup replies and in material he steals for websites to post
under his own name. He even goes as far as inventing quotations from
Jesus, as if people are too stupid to spot that he is the only person
who has ever suggested that Jesus said such a thing. He knows no limits
of depravity.
His latest scam is a fake African charity appeal using stolen
photographs of an African missionary school set up by the indigenous
African movement known as The Last Church of Jesus Christ, an
organization which has never sought donations from overseas, still less
from a poor illiterate lunatic who lives out in the desert polishing his
guns and growing a beard like an old testament prophet or an Appalachian
banjo picker. He thinks that adding the letters TZ to the user name he
chose on Yahoo Mail and typing in an African accent will be enough to
fool people that he is somebody else who can confer legitimacy on his scam.
