alt.atheism's profane culture is offensive to the public |
Forums that cultivate profanity breed murderers, and not independent
thinkers.
The regulars of this forum should not exercise their intellect to encourage
violent language and violent expressions.
["You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder,
and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' But I tell you that
anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again,
anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But
anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.]

Quitcher sniffin'. It's cooling down here; today it's only
supposed to get to 108F or so.
Yikes!
Of course, we got a real soaker of a thunderstorm last
night, so the humidity more than makes up for it....
Oh dear. Guess I'll quit my bitchin'. It's only going to
be in the low 90s here
Ah, yes. Low 90's. 'Round here, that's know as 8:00 a.m. or
so.
and I'll be spending the day in a sis-in-law's pool.
This would be the theist ones with the kid being brainwashed?
You betcha. Can't wait to show off my new black nail polish.
They don't call me "Evil Aunt Robyn" for nuthin' ;)
Doing your part to confuse and confound. I like!
Ed Zachery :)
I met him once, I think. Tall short gal, redhaired baldy, perfect

My nephew? With his speech impediment, I can barely understand
what he's saying as it is.
Hey, this could be a *good* thing. He's got the perfect cover for
saying sensible things in the company of insensible people. And,
even if his sanity doesn't survive his ``education,'' nobody'll
ever be able to understand the ``Truth'' he speaks, anyway!

Indeed. That and usually everyone brings beer.
Well, that would certainly go a long way to forgiving an entire

Oh, it's actually worse than that. I'm actually not supposed to

Blech, why bother, right?
I'm sure I wouldn't....
I had a Smithwicks the only night when I was out with some
friends and it was SUCH a treat. Oh well.
All things in moderation--except for the pleasure you take from
your indulgences.
Must admit, I've never had the pleasure of drinking a
Smithwicks. I'll have to keep my eyes open for it.
Have a good soak for me.
Heck, you can't even take a cold shower here. Tapwater is
already almost lukewarm....
Oh dear, that is awful. Do you live in Arizona?
Gee...how'd you guess?
Tempe, to be precise. If you take off from Sky Harbor pointing
to the East, a couple seconds after you see the big antenna
that looks like a Mexican hat, you might let your gaze wander
over my humble abode.
Ah, I was in Phoenix in March. Pretty cool place, but don't
care much for the scenery and the heat would utterly destroy me.
March is definitely a good time to be here. Pleasant weather,
everything in bloom.
The urban scenery is awful, yes, but once you get out into the
desert it can be quite breathtaking. If I ever find that roundtuit
I lost, I'll be putting up a gallery of my photography, including
a good amount just from parks within biking distance of the
apartment.
Of course, that doesn't mean that I don't dearly miss the redwoods
and the specific ocean....

Sorry to hear. There's really a lot of wonderful, peaceful beauty
out there. Not a lot of shade, to be sure, and the light's only
pleasant around dawn and dusk, but there's nothing quite like
coming across this spiky green thing with a purple and white and
yellow flower half as big as it is. And when the ocotillo bloom,
it's like Christmas in June--huge red and green wands exploding
from the ground. Watch a hawk turn lazy circles in the sky. Step
on a twig, and the jackrabbit the hawk was watching dashes out
from nowhere to the next bush. Giggle as a bunch of quail chicks
scamper after their mom across the trail. There's a spot in Sedona

Well, his parents could have gotten free speech therapy provided by the

My usual response "Why are you asking me? You have to ask your mother. I
can't give you permission for that'.
BTW, he eats about a dozen ice pops a day as well as a ton of candy. He

Nobody with an intellectual capacity greater than that of the
average teenager should need to resort to violence. If you
can't make a child feel miserable for trying to make you feel
miserable--establishing a sense of empathy, which is far more
powerful than a sense of fear--then you're simply not trying.
Which, sadly, too few people do. If nothing else, they seem to
like the power kick of making a kid fear them. Sick *and* worng.

Her husband has her beaten down. At the time, she was the breadwinner in
the family while her husband stayed home with the kid. It's a loooong
story, but the bottom line is that she was just too lazy to bother doing
anything about it because she knew the school would provide speech therapy.

That'd be because sugar is an acquired taste...and, in sufficient

between daughter and nephew. Hell, just weaning the kid to fresh

I must agree. I love my nephew's parents dearly, but both of them aren't
smart, to put it mildly. My nephew's father dropped out of school in the

That one thing they were saying when we were in Arizona in March, that this
was the lushest scenery some of them had ever seen. It was beautiful in its
own way, but I'd take the mountains of the Adirondacks any day.
Sadly...all that riot of vegetation just turns to kindling. It's

LOL! Thank you, George Carlin ;)
See? That's the great thing about being an atheist. We get to
worship the sun, and our priests give kick-***** sermons!
"New Nabisco Tits!" "Bet you can't eat just one!" :)
Now *there's* a bet I'd love to lose!
Cheers,

Amusingly, independent thoughts led most of us to atheism, and the
number one murderer in history is, as described in your bible, "god"
itself. Go figure.
The regulars of this forum should not exercise their intellect to encourage
violent language and violent expressions.
This is an unmoderated Usenet group. It's not a bad idea to have a tough
skin and be ready to explain your ideas.

Define "profanity."
Is "merde" profane? How about "scopata?"
How about limiting to English? Is "odd's bodkins" profane? Is "bloody"
profane? How about "shag?" Is that profane?
Tell me. How do you define "profanity?"

I am very interested in your theory and would like to know more. Do you
have the stats on which newsgroups produced the most murder
convictions? I need to know for a science project.
Thanks!
