Yet another example of why John Kerry needs to be kept as far away as
possible from the Oval Office. In today's installment, we look at an
interview he gave to the Harvard Crimson in 1970 prior to his first
run for
Congress. This one's a doozy. In the interview, Kerry said "I'm an
internationalist. I'd like to see our
troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United
Nations." Some people are dismissing the comments as appropriate for
the time, but have Kerry's views really changed? Not at all. He is
going around saying that "there was a right way and a wrong way" to go
to war with Iraq, and the right way was only if it was approved by the
United Nations. In other words, the United States only has the right
to defend itself if we get permission from Kofi Annan. I think not.
And then there was this: Kerry said he wanted "to almost eliminate CIA
activity." I wonder how Kerry will respond to that. It was precisely
his efforts in the Senate to scale back the intelligence budget that
led to
information-gathering shortfalls around the world.
John Kerry's support for the U.S. military seems to have ended the day
he was discharged if not sooner.
