How admirable - if it weren't a lie.

No *****.
For weeks, nothing, nothing, nothing. Then, finally, as the heat became
unbearable and his popularity numbers sank like the Titanic, he finally
accepted responsibility for Klusterfuck Katrina Kleanup.
Hell, it took over a week of pressure from the press (among others) and a
few exposed lies from his PR group before he did anything about Brown.

Well, kinda sorta accepted responsibility. I'm certain that if the same
kind of responsibility "acceptance" statement that bush made had been made
by a democrat or other non-republican entity, the idiot brigade led by Fred
Stone would be complaining about his "weasel words".
But it's nice to see bush inch a bit closer to actually taking
responsibility for *anything*. I bet if this weren't the presidency, he
would have walked away from the job like he did every other time in his life
previously, after he'd turned whatever he was involved in into *****.

It's easy for Bush to accept responsibility when he believes he's never
made a mistake in his entire presidency.
I smell Karl Rove all over this latest statement, and give it as much
credence as any other words out of Bush's mouth. It's nothing more than
a cheap political ploy to try to salvage a sinking ship.

Well, kinda sorta accepted responsibility.

When I was a kid, there was a joke record out from Rich Little (remember
the man of 1000 voices?) spoofing on Richard Nixon. He did a routine
that I still remember, in perfect Nixonian tones:
"I accept full responsibility... but not the blame.
Let me explain the difference. People who are to blame lose their jobs.
People who are responsible... do not."

Jay Allen (jayallen.org):
By the way, the inaudible part is partially audible but since part of
it is in French I can't say definitively what the words are.
For the record, it sounds like "Un e crawfish bischien l'etouffee,
boiled vittlins and tomato paste". The word "boiled" is definitely in
there, but it's said the new Orleans way which is more like Burled.

Americans would be happy to give George Bush a third
term. ME TOO . He is a great President, but it is not
easy to LEAD A BUNCH OF BASTARDS WHO ARE ALWAYS
LOOKING FOR INSTANT GRATIFICATIONS.

YES! Instant gratification is so EVIL! HOW can anyone NOT condemn those
EVIL BASTARDS SCREAMING FOR INSTANT GRATIFICATION:
"PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE! I DON'T WANT TO DROWN! HELP ME PLEASE!!!"
Evil scumsucking BASTARDS who want WHAT THEY WANT THE INSTANT THEY WANT
IT!
I say help came too soon for those evil bastards. The government should
have made them WORK for being saved!
"NO WAY WELFARE *****! YOU GOTTA PUT IN A DAY'S WORK BEFORE WE SAVE
YOUR SORRY *****- AND IT'S TWO MORE DAY'S WORK IF YOU WANT US TO TAKE
YOUR KIDS!"
Codebreaker- one of the evil Americans.

Yes. First edit out all of the science and replace it with a good dose
of politics.
Science + politics - science = policy.

Heh.
I rember reading an interview with a woman who was being
vetted for a seat on the President's scientific advisory
council. I believe she was a climatologist, but I'd
have to look that up.
Anyhow, she was prepared to be quizzed extensively
on her background: education, papers published,
collaborations, awards, that sort of thing.
According to her, she was actually only asked
one question:
Do you agree with the President's policies?

What can I say...
(she should have replied "is that the man over there
who isn't wearing any clothes?")
