Judge Rules Against 'Choose Life' Plates
By COLIN FLY
Associated Press Writer
NASHVILLE, Tenn. --
A federal judge ruled Friday that the state's "Choose Life" license
plate is unconstitutional based on the reasoning in similar cases in
other states, but he declined to rule on whether Tennessee's entire
specialty plate program is flawed.
U.S. District Judge Todd Campbell wrote that the state cannot promote
just one viewpoint in the abortion debate.
"The result in this case would be the same if the statute authorized a
'Pro-Choice' license plate instead of the 'Choose Life' license
plate," Campbell wrote.

I guess I didn't understand how the specialty plate system worked. I thought
individuals & organizations could petition to have their plates recognized
which, if that were the case, then there should be no problem. If anyone wanted
to craft a pro-choice plate in response to the pro-life plate, they'd be free to
do so, and if no one did, then "oh, well". I didn't realize the state was the
only organization allowed to design them. :-\

No , actually you were claiming there was a Christian Taliban not I
If you can point out where I ever said any such thing, you won't look like
an
idiot. :-)
,if
you're not the author, then you're an idiot for responding to someones
elses
intended target.
As must you be, because you responded to it also. You really have a
problem
simply admitting to a simple mistake, don't you? You're funny. :-)

If the licensing of drivers and their vehicles were privatized and not
a function of the government -- one of the few that actually work fairly
well; including the postal system -- then it would be reasonable to have
warring extremist factions coming up with all kinds of idiot *****.

Using the postal system is a matter of choice; registering and
licensing vehicles is not. Only if licensing vehicles were optional
could a case be made to "privatise" the business.
