Parallels between Jesus and
Horus, an Egyptian God
Mel Gibson to make sequel to "The Passion of the Christ".
The new star: Horus
Title: "The Passion of the Horus-the Egyptian God."
Quotations:
"The Christian myths were first related of Horus or Osiris, who was the
embodiment of divine goodness, wisdom, truth and purity...This was the greatest
hero that ever lived in the mind of man -- not in the flesh -- the only hero to
whom the miracles were natural because he was not human." 1
"...I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god
but me: for there is no saviour beside me." Hosea 13:4, King James Version.
This passage may have an additional and completely different meaning from that
usually assigned.
Life events shared by Horus and Jesus
Stories from the life of Horus had been circulating for centuries before Jesus
birth (circa 4 to 7 BCE). If any copying occurred by the writers of the
Egyptian or Christian religions, it was the followers of Jesus who incorporated
into his biography the myths and legends of Horus, not vice-versa.
According to author and theologian Tom Harpur: "[Author Gerald] Massey
discovered nearly two hundred instances of immediate correspondence between the
mythical Egyptian material and the allegedly historical Christian writings
about Jesus. Horus indeed was the archetypal Pagan Christ." 7

Italian Renaissance artists are responsible for most of how we see Jesus
Christ. He no doubt looked entirely different than they portrayed him; not that
it makes any difference in what most Christians have come to believe about the
mystery of his life and death.
There does not seem to be any historical proof other than the gospels about
his crucifixion and how he died.
Don't we always see Jesus hanging on a cross nailed through the hands? Yet it
is it mentioned at least five times in the New Testament that he was killed by
hanging him on a tree? Peter told the Jewish authorities they had killed Christ
by hanging him on a tree (Acts 5:30). See also Acts 10:39,13:29, Galatians
3:13 and Peter 2:24. And was he nailed through the hands or the wrists as was
the custom. Did Mel Gibson get it wrong?
The crucifixion of Jesus must have been different than the customary method
used by the Romans. For a reference on the history of crucifixions see these
two interesting web sites.

A Closer Look At The Crucifixion
It is probably not commonly known that there existed as many as 29 saviors
before the advent of Jesus Christ, whether real or mystical.
They all had the following in common:
Their mother's were virgins.
They were born in a cave or a stable.
They worked for the salvation of humanity.
They were called Saviors, Mediators, Healers, etc..
They were overcome by evil powers [Jesus was tempted by the devil].
They made a decent into hell.
And being slain they arose from the dead and ascended into heaven.
They founded religious institutions.
They were commemorated by Eucharistic rites.
Many of these savior-gods were believed to make a second coming to the
world.
Many scholars seeking the truth believe that these doctrines of Christianity
were fashioned and incorporated by Paul for the purpose of accomodating the
Gentiles and converting them to the new religion.

There was nothing new or unique about Jesus, his birth, life, teaching, or his
death and resurrection. It was all done many times before.
It will be a great disappointment to discover the real history of the faith.
It's very bloody and destructive to humanity (to the present) as we see in the
world today.
It is best that Christians never begin to investigate what they believe. Stay
with blind faith as instructed. Then, like with the mustard seed, nothing will
be impossible unto you.
"And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say
unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in
the sea; and it should obey you."
--- Luke 17:6.
