Pang - who loves hot air balloon time in New Mexico.

We have lots hot air balloons around San Diego too. Before a building
was put up, they used to take off right across the street from me. Some
of them are rather strange looking. I saw one that looked like a giant
shoe.

The Albuquerque Balloon Fest in the fall is growing each year.... the
mass ascension and the nightly Balloon Glow are awesome! I know! I've
seen video of that! Impressive!

As I am on the "flight path" , I see many landings. One - really close
to my house - was rough so I drove out immediately to offer help if
needed. It wasn't but I got thanked for being concerned. :-)

Sometimes they are rough. Where I live there is another hazard. If the
wind shifts while they are up, they could get blown over the ocean. It
happened a few years ago. Fortunately, everyone was rescued unharmed,
but a little soggy.

That is really amazingly effective!
Have you ever been taken on board?

It is on my to-do list. I was terrified to go white-water rafting - so
I went. I hate to fly - but I do. A hot-air balloon with nothing but
a wicker basket between me and the ground far below is ... ACKKKKKK! I
suspect I will do it.... maybe in the fall when conditions are ideal
for flights. As the "flight path" is so close to my home, they can
just drop me off.... uh, let me reword that. When we land, I'd be
close to home!

Hitting terra firma would be an even bigger mistake!
