No, I think she claims to be a Christian conservative. Of course, the Father
of Modern Conservatism was Russell Kirk, a Roman Catholic. Edmund Burke is
also considered a founder of conservative thought. Coulter is a freelance TV
pundit who writes books. Unlike Kirk, I don't think she's ever spelled out
what being a conservative means. As for religious views of conservatives, it
depends on who you talk to, but a primary tenet, according to Kirk, is the
belief in original sin. Hence, the conservative doctrines in favor of
limited government but also in favor of punishing criminals. Of course,
Presidnet Bush has stated that he believes people are basically good (a
liberal, Romantic notion), which may be the reason why he is in so much
trouble with his domestic and foreign policies lately. Political policies
will not work if you have such a mistaken notion of human beings.

It says a lot about conservatism and liberalism that thinking people

Prior to your response, the word "conservative" doesn't appear in this
thread. Nor, for that matter, does the word "Christian". There's a
reason for that.
Ann Coulter is neither. Nor, for that matter, are the people who have
taken over the GOP and much of the country.
They are vicious right wing thugs who call themselves "conservative"
only because they want to be seen as traditionalists, although the
values they hold are certainly not traditional in any way outside of
fascist regimes.
They call themselves Christian in order to attract the very lowest
members of the religion, the ones who will blindly follow anyone who
waves the bible in front of them. Americans, especially in the south,
have always been easy prey to pseudo-religious demogogues and the
people running the GOP have managed to marry that to their fascistic
beliefs.

It isn't just in the South. Americans are intellectually lazy. They
need easy answers to complicated questions. Today, Right Wing does
that well. Ask a liberal why there are so many problems in the middle
east and they will talk for hours. A conservative will say, "They hate
us." or "We are good, they are bad."
We murder innocent people in other countries, the economy is falling
apart, gas prices have increased at an unbelievable rate in the last
six years under a oil connected President, we spy on our citizens,
justice is a thing of the past, the President is a lying coward, the
GOP is a bunch of bribe taking thieves, and the GOP sells fear, making
America a country of scared rabbits, etc. The fact that today's GOP
gets any support whatsoever demonstrates just how hateful and ignorant
many Americans can be.

Ms. Coulter makes my blood boil because she falsely uses Christianity to
sell her lies and corruption. I don't care if I'm called Godless, but to
be called that by someone who seems to worship moral degenerates, is
offensive. Even more offensive is that there are so many right wingers
who have been taken in by her.

Horse *****, since most people who consider themselves "liberal" also
consider themselves Christians.
What Coulter defines is modern-day neoconservatism, and not only does she
not make my blood boil - she makes me smile. I want that woman and her
expressed views to be fixed in the minds of every thinking American as
associated with every Republican running for office. Maybe they'll let her
speak at the Republican National Convention.

George W. Bush has made the terrorists stronger, their influence wider,
their numbers larger, and their motivation to attack the U.S. and other
western interests greater. He has repeatedly abused his authority and
violated his Oath of Office by turning his back on the United States
Constitution; thereby surrendering to the terrorists by underminig American
freedoms, values, and the very foundations of our system of government.
Supporting Bush is treason.

Maybe they'll let her speak at the Republican National Convention.
Coulter is the polar opposite of Al Franken.
Let's see how that claim stacks up.
Franken: Sane.
Coulter: Raving loon.
Yep, polar opposites. <G>

That's only true if you assume that she's a woman.

Does it really make a difference? He/she is a perfect

hatred.

Horse *****, since most people who consider themselves "liberal" also

Maybe that's part of the reason I'm not a liberal.

I'm a moderate Democrat. :) Most people these days don't even know what
a liberal is, liberals as a general rule don't join the Democratic party
they join parties like:
Communist Party USA, Freedom Socialist Party, Grassroots Party, Green
Party, Labor Party, Light Party, Natural Law Party, New Party, New Union
Party, Pan Sexual Peace Party, Peace and Freedom Party, Progressive
Labor Party, Revolutionary Communist Party USA, Socialist Party USA,
Socialist Action Party, Socialist Equality Party, Socialist Labor Party
Socialist Workers Party, US Pacifist Party, Workers World Party. As you
can see there aren't many real liberals in the US. :)

Utter nonsense. I don't know a single liberal who belongs to any of
those organizations. The Democratic Socialist Party, yeah, but the
communists are anything but liberal!
