Another biblical contradiction |
I was just wondering, do Xians consider both the old and new testaments to
be valid? If so there is a major contradiction. The old testament says not
to consume blood. Yet in the NT, Jesus tells his disciples to eat his flesh
and drink his blood. This tradition survives today as the Eucharist. The
Xians believe that the bread and wine becomes the body and blood of Jesus.
Therefore, in their minds, they are disobeying the OT.

Bread; basic food. Wine; in vino veritas. Jesus was a smart guy.
Many, both theists and atheists, are still today having problem
with understanding what Jesus said. That's why people hate Jesus.
Cause... he was smart. 2000 years and people still don't practice
what he preached. Most hate Jesus, cause he set the 'standards'
too high, others... blindly follow what 'church' says.
And yes, Jesus didn't write the bible. He was executed before
tha bible was written. Not everything in the holy book is true.

What they do is as follows. Using their skill and judgement they examine the
text, and by a laborious process of careful sifting they separate what seems
intuitively reasonable from what is incoherent garbage. Then they believe
the incoherent garbage.

Once upon a time in alt.atheism, dear sweet Steven Jones
(stevenj76@aapt.net.au) made the light shine upon us with this:
I was just wondering, do Xians consider both the old and new
testaments to be valid? If so there is a major contradiction. The

wine becomes the body and blood of Jesus. Therefore, in their minds,
they are disobeying the OT.
Some xians say Jesus came to fulfil the old law, I guess that means to make
it defunct. But that would mean they don't have to follow God's Ten
Commandments, and they no longer believe in Original Sin, which makes Jesus
unnecessary.

It means they are so unaware of how silly it is, that it has been made
part of official dogma, to be accepted on faith alone. No, wait, that
happens when someone in the hierarchy gets an inkling that it *is*
silly and needs to be thrust upon the masses as an article of faith.

Yet Christ made wine out of water. You can only understand Christianity if
God the Father allows you to understand Christianity.
Let me get this straight. If I don't understand, then I suffer
eternal punishment. But I don't determine if I get to understand,
only the one who is sentencing me determines that. God the Father is
a sadist.

You don't suffer eternal punishment, you get a second chance later on.
Burning in hell is a stupid myth not found in the Bible. When we die we are
dead, period. Those that die will be resurrected one day.
But I don't determine if I get to understand, only the one who is
sentencing me determines that.
God does not sentence anyone, the moral laws are already set just like the
laws of gravity. If you throw a rock up in the air and it hits your head you
don't blame God, you accept the consequence of your own action.
Once you understand (God willing) and accept the correct moral laws anything
negative is usally due to our own actions.
God the Father is a sadist.
Wrong, God is Love we just don't understand and blame all the negative on
him and we leave nothing to our stupidity.
But Don't feel bad most self-proclaimed Christians don't understand the

Let me get this straight. If I don't understand, then I suffer eternal
punishment.
You don't suffer eternal punishment, you get a second chance later on.
Burning in hell is a stupid myth not found in the Bible. When we die we
are dead, period. Those that die will be resurrected one day.
But I don't determine if I get to understand, only the one who is
sentencing me determines that.
God does not sentence anyone, the moral laws are already set just like the
laws of gravity. If you throw a rock up in the air and it hits your head
you don't blame God, you accept the consequence of your own action.
Once you understand (God willing) and accept the correct moral laws
anything negative is usally due to our own actions.
God the Father is a sadist.
Wrong, God is Love we just don't understand and blame all the negative on
him and we leave nothing to our stupidity.
Who's "we"? Got a mouse in your pocket?
Speak for yourself.

Kind of hard to lay the blame for the tsunami, the hurricane,
the mudslides, and now the earthquake, to human stupidity.

And this belief is contradicted by other Christian beliefs that say you go
directly to Judgement one moment after death. Now where are those
bagpipes?

The Bible
If you're going to write a good bit of fantasy fiction, at least put some
goblins or trolls in it, you dumb cunts. Given the choice between this
bollocks and the Lord of the Rings, which one do you think we're going to
go for? The Bible with its bunch of bearded nomad hippies talking shite, or
something with fucking battles and dragons?
And I think you're forgetting the first page, which should read: 'All
characters in this book are fictitious and any resemblance to any real
persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental'.
I liked the bit when God and Jesus have a lightsaber duel on a bridge
though.
