Another church to close |
A 200 seater chapel which, "has been serving worshippers
hgh on the Yorkshire fells since the time of the Brontes is
on the verge of extinction" our local newspaper reports
today.
This Worth Valley chapel (where the Brontes lived) was
last refurbished in 1869. It was an independant chapel
which severed its links wth the Methodists 30 years ago.
A photograph shows the entire regular flock of four worshippers
not one of them under the age of 59 with the eldest 89. Another
three attend occasionally.

Most of you British practice religion the right way - it's a label,
nothing more. "I'm C of E" "Oh, I'm Methodist"
"Pardon me, where's the nearest church?" "No idea"
Of course you have football for when you want to discuss really
important matters. Or reduce your blood pressure nasally. :)
