Perhaps it is high time for the "world leaders" that comprise the UN
to pack up and go home. What purpose do they serve?
U.S. to U.N: "You imposed resolutions in Iraq. This organization is
being laughed at by Saddam. Enforce your resolutions."
U.N: " W-w-w-what??? You mean, act?! Follow through?! No, we're sure
Mr. Hussein will follow our direction, any day now. He just needs
more time, love and understanding"
U.S.: "Alright then, you sit tight and we'll do it all ourselves."
U.S. to U.N., 6 months later:"You can come out now. The worst is
over. Now you can help with the cleanup."
U.N.: "W-w-w-what? But there are still bad guys in there with guns,
right? You make them go away first. We didn't want any trouble in the
first place. This mess is all your fault! Why couldn't you just let
Saddam come around when he was ready??"

Here in our universe the U.N. resolutions worked, and
Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction.

He did let the inspectors in, and they were doing their job. While
they found very little contraband, all essentially insignificant
or of debatable illegality, one could truthfully say that to date,
they found more back then than the U.S. has to date.

dollars on Iraq each week. I just asked for another 40 billion dollar
increase for Iraq. the WMD claims turned out to be lies. Can you bail
me out?"
