Another Tool For Evolution? |

reveal the phenomenon of the chimera - a human being composed not only
of their own body cells, but also of those of another individual.
It's fascinating to speculate what kind of tools an event like this
would place in the hands of evolution.
and then there's the one about the boy who was pregnant with his twin

Ouch. Seriously, I doubt very much that fundies are even going to
_try_ explaining how *this* one relates to their religion. They'll
probably just praise their Gawd(TM) and proclaim it a "miracle" and
"proof," ignoring the question of _why_ they think it's something an
omnipotent being would deliberately do.
Oh, crap, wait. I think I might be incorrect. I've just thought of
one fundie angle: Eve was Adam's "parasitic (though clearly
fraternal) twin" - Gawd(TM) put her in Adam's chest in a space no
bigger than a rib, and when Adam decided he wanted someone, Gawd(TM)
left the twin fully emerge. Naturally, proof that even males can have
other humans form inside them will be translated as proof that eve was
really formed inside Adam's rib and that therefore their version of
Gawd(TM) and their version only is the "One(TM) True(TM)
Path(TM)"(TM).
*Sigh*...

Fascinating. Couple of years ago I read a novel called" The Troublesome
Offspring of Cardinal Guzman" by Louis de Bernieres which involved a story very
similar to the last one above, and which I dimissed as a literary device at the
time. I'm going to have to be more open minded in future.
I wonder what the catholic church would say about the soul of a chimera. After
all, they claim that the soul is created at the point of conception. Clearly
there have been two fertilised eggs here which have resulted in only one
conscious human.

Such means the result is twice as holy as the Pope.
