Anti-abortion Christofascist loses |
Long Island may not be the nation's center of power, but it is home to some
of the most financially upscale families in the country, families usually
considered a safe bet for the repugs...until now.

"With a wave of victories across Long Island, Democrats last night claimed
control of the Nassau district attorney's office, the Suffolk Legislature
and Brookhaven Town Hall.
Kathleen Rice, a former federal prosecutor, claimed victory over Nassau
District Attorney Denis Dillon, ushering him out after 30 years in office.
Democrat Rice, 40, a Garden City native who had worked as a prosecutor in
Brooklyn and Philadelphia, attacked Republican Dillon saying his
anti-abortion views interfered with his job performance, and accusing him
of plea-bargaining too many felony charges to misdemeanors.
"I am incredibly proud of the campaign we ran. From the very beginning I
had a very positive message of hope asking people to vote for me because I
am a modern prosecutor qualified to deal with the problems we're facing in
Nassau County."
In a resounding victory in Nassau County, Executive Thomas Suozzi, whose
financial turnaround of the county in his first term could propel him into
the governor's race, defeated Republican Gregory Peterson. Suozzi stormed
the stage at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale to declare victory last
night, surrounded by his wife, parents and Democratic lawmakers. "Four
years ago I said 'I can do it because I've done it.' Tonight the people
said 'We did it.' The people recognized that we cleaned up after the
elephants," Suozzi told the 600 supporters.
Democrats took control of the Suffolk legislature for the first time since
1976."

Good riddance to filth: he should have been flushed 30 years ago.
Democrat Rice, 40, a Garden City native who had worked as a prosecutor in

of plea-bargaining too many felony charges to misdemeanors.
Yet another example of The Party coddling criminals.
