I think that the leader fundies are not confusing reality with
fiction, but they try to make believe their flock that there is a real
danger of Satanism or whatever. They are constanstly warning people
about the supposed evils of this world, inflating the news about a few
criminal cases, to demonstrate the work of Satan is progessing. And
that we need them, the faithful Xians to stop the forces of Evil.
