No one has ever showed that the death penalty is a deterrant. It *has* been
shown that where a death penalty state borders a non death penalty state
people have kidnapped a person in the non death penalty state, taakes them
into ther other and murders them there.
It is believed that it is a form of "death by cop" a not rare means of
committing suicide.
(Most suicides have three things in common. They want to kill, they want to

Our laws say that you if you are convicted, you are guilty and therefor not
innocent. EVEN IF YOU DID NOT COMMIT THE CRIME you are no loinger innocent
in our "nation of laws". If evidence comes forth at a later date it can take
months to get a conviction put aside.

the other day? Life without parole is "cruel and unusual". It also
isn't
a guarantee that the killer won't kill again.
Life without parole is far more common than the death sentence. If you wish
to play the "cruel and unusual" card then the rare death penaly is far more
unusual.
