apocryphal rolls |
There were some errors in my former presentation. Here it is
corrected.
Apocryphal Genesis.
Introduction
There is now about twenty years they found among the rolls of Nag
Hammadi some fragments of parchment in bad state. After a patient
labor of curing some scholars were able to translate them. Scholars
were not in accord about the meaning or significance of the rolls that
were written in a old Hebrew. In fact, as far as I know translation of
these rolls has created bitter polemics among scholars. Some say this
is not but apocryphal rubbish and some say they are rolls of great
value.
I am a security guard that works mostly during the night in a Museum.
I cannot tell you where I am to keep my own security.
This translation is about some rolls... well, I think they are a
continuation of the Genesis in the Old Testament. But there are strong
pressures against publishing them. As I heard tell, these rolls are
about the creation of the world and were hidden by the big priest of
Jerusalem. This story portraits the creation of the world as something
a lot more complex that the Genesis of the Old Testament.
Some scholars say these rolls are the proof that the world was created
by an Intelligent Designer. But this idea has crashed with the
hostility of impious and has been the object of heated controversies.
I heard there were some problems with the word Elohim. Sometimes it
appears as such, sometimes is translated as "they" sometimes as
"the gods". This was because the story was very old, from a time in
which monotheism was not yet strongly established.
I cannot go enter into these polemics because I am not but a security
guard. But I love a nice piece of gossip, so I made some copies of the
translation one night and that is why I post it here.
There about twenty these document is translated but they don't dare
to publish it.
So that is to you to read it.
The points repeated mean gaps in the parchment that could not be filled
by semantic logic.
The original translation is one with a lot of numbers, but I call this
Apocryphal Genesis
.................
In the eighth day, Elohim saw they had made a perfect world... it was a
very good work. The human beings created... were happily running from
a place to the other... fucking all day like rabbits...
.....They were having a very happy life.
............Elohim felt envy and they said: "These creatures are so
happy... .....they look like gods.... All day long eating and fucking
like rabbits.
..............
.........they met and commented on their discontent...... "we have to
do something" said the gods.
........
In the ninth day Elohim said: "There is too much gardening".....
with a blow of his powerful hand Elohim wiped the woods and fruitful
trees.
................
Elohim separated the temperatures putting on a side the dry lands and
on the other the wet lands. He put apart the fresh and humid air
separated from the air hot and dry. And in the lands with dry air all
living things were exhausted and dead. Other lands were flooded with
too much water.
.............
Elohim saw the lands drying and the fruit trees dying for lack of water
and the gods felt pleasure and they hailed and fived each other.

And Elohim said: "these sons of a *****... will have to work hard to
earn his food. Some will fight with the others for their food... And
those that would be able to kill the others those will eat their food.
..............
And it came the tenth day. Elohim saw the men were dying of hunger...
and the gods met and had a good time commenting on the misery of men.
They were dying of hunger and had not any strength to search for more
food. The men and his children were dying of hunger.
Then Elohim met with the gods and they said: "There is not any fun
if they all die of hunger. Let's do something for they, this way can
have more fun later watching they suffering." So spoke the gods.

Elohim extended his arm and produced the fresh winds full of rain and
humidity. The rain produced places well watered, reach in fruits of
all classes....
.....
It appeared dry lands for the wild animals to live and well watered
places for the humans.... and flooded lands for the big birds that use
to eat in the water.
................
the men were making wars on other men for there was not enough good
land to cultivate food and they had too many children....
"the better men will be killing other men and grabbed the best lands
for themselves..." said the gods and they were rejoicing with the
human misery.

The men had a great capacity to suffer miseries and the [evil one] (1)
taught the men how to sow wheat and barley....
......men learned how to plant fruit trees.... and to tend sheep and
goats.
...........
Men were copulating like rabbits... filling the best parts of the
planet and there was not any place to go.... They have to migrate to
the highlands and into the deserts...... they went there with their
herds of hairy sheep and goats.
................
Then eleventh day arrived. Elohim said to them: "this people has
forgotten were made by us with mud and water, and now they believe they
are gods. We have to do something to make his life miserable.
................
Elohim extended his arm and he said: "Let be dinosaurs... and flying
dragons... and horses with wings." And the world was full of them.
And he created the unicorns and sea monsters that swallow the ships of
the men full of sailors or fishers.
..................
dragons were putting on fire the woods that gave the men firewood and
deer to hunt... and the dinosaurs and diplodocus were destroying the
sown fields and the orchards.
....................
.....the man burdened by these miseries were cursing the gods.....
Elohim saw the hard life men had with this great plagues and
congratulated with the other gods of their mighty.
....................
And the twelfth day arrived. And Elohim said: "With this lot of
misery we gave them they will never believe they are like gods
anymore."
.......................
humans were aided by evil spirits and they learn how to light a fire,
the evil taught them how to made bows and arrows... how to do spears
with hard flint points.
.......................
The men made herds to made war to the dragons when they were sleeping.
For dragons used to sleep a lot when the weather is cold. They killed
the flying dragons with hundreds of spears and ate their flesh.
................
the men also exterminated the dinosaurs making them to abandon their
nests full of eggs, while others robbed the eggs of the
monsters........... men broke the dinosaur's eggs with stones, put
them on the fire and ate them.
In spite of all their miseries, Elohim saw the men were copulating all
day and night like rabbits... and were so proud of their might that
were exterminating the flying dragons, the dinosaurs, the unicorns, the
winged horses, and the famous sea monsters like the Leviathan.
And the gods were mad with men. And Elohim said: "these sons of a
***** (2) had exterminated our best creations, the dinosaurs and the
flying dragons. We have to punish them for their pride."

And the thirteenth day arrived. Elohim extended his might arm and
said: let be immense swarms of mosquitoes, microbes and viruses. Let
be all sort of malign little beasts visible and invisible.... bedbugs,
ticks, lice... that shall be feeding on his blood... so they would
remind that they are not like gods, but poor miserable creatures, that
do not deserve but disdain from the gods."
All the gods agreed with these words.

All around the world a horrible plague punished the men... to remind
them they were not gods, but creatures made of wet mud. The little
beasts were sucking the blood of men and produced on them horrible
fivers.
................
Elohim was so happy watching the proud men suffering from this minute
bugs that sucked their blood.
................... They saw the millions of mosquitoes biting on the
flesh of men, the ticks and all the minute animals, making his life
miserable. Elohim felt a great pleasure on his heart watching the
misery of men.
..............
The fourteenth day arrived. Elohim saw the evil little bugs had gone
too far proliferating. Ticks, lice, mosquitoes, and other pests were
wiping the men from the face of the earth. .....................
They met to discuss the new plague and accorded was not any good to
exterminate the men, for they were taking a lot of pleasure watching
their miseries.
...............
Elohim extended his powerful arm and said: Let humans develop a system
of immunity to protect them from the evil bugs." And that happened.
Elohim created an immune system to protect men.

And the fifteenth day arrived. The gods saw the men were multiplying
again and they saw a lot of children running on the fertile lands of
the planet. They were copulating day and night and they were enjoying
life like monkeys.

This again produced envy on the spirits of the gods that felt envy of
watching the men fucking all day.

the gods met to gossip and they said: "this humans, in spite of his
apparent fragility, and the plagues we threw over them... they are too
proud and think they are like gods. The immune system we gave them had
made them too strong. We have to do something or we are not having any
more fun watching them."
...................
Elohim extended his arm and said: "Let the small bugs and invisible
bacteria, and viruses, mutate so they could defeat the men and made
them sick." And that happened.
...................
the gods made mutate the virus and bacteria to be sure the men will
have a miserable life, so as they could please the gods in their
unquenchable thirst of human misery. Since then, virus and bacteria
were attacking the men forever, century after century.

I am sorry but the translation is finished.
(1) This word has been read as "evil one" but has been a lot of
controversies for the letters were difficult to read.
(2) There has been some polemics with the expression "sons of a
*****". Some say this has to be an error and Elohim had said
something like "this bunch of sinners". They are still arguing
daily over this point.
