Sure it does. Dude, don't you remember when the coelacanth turned up
alive in the early 20th century? It was horrible; the Official Evil
Cabal of Conspiratorial Scientists had ruled the dratted thing extinct
for millions of years. There was all that hassle with Oxford and
Cambridge sending competing assassination teams to South Africa to
silence the discoverers. All those scientific journals having to be
burned. Four generations of science teachers being leaned on to hush
the whole thing up. Because he's right; the OECCS's entire flimsy
tissue of lies would collapse if they were shown to have been wrong, or
even incompletely informed, on one single organism. They're not allowed
to change their minds about anything, they don't allow anyone ELSE to
change their minds about anything, and woe to those who transgress the
unwritten law...

Not only that.
Faithful observers had watched several bands of neanthertal men roaming
free in the frozen Siberian steppes hunting mamoths.
In the outback of Australia, a baptist minister who was playing golf
with some faithful natives has witnessed a great herd of dinoterios
chased away by a ferocious pack of velociraptors.
And I read somewhere that in Central park of New York had been watched
several velociraptors hunting ducks.
