Object: Are You Obeying The Ten Commandments? 4-2-2007.
Romans 13: 11-14.
And do this because you know the time; it is the hour now for you to
awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first
believed; the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then
throw off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us
conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and
drunkeness, not in promiscuity and licentiousness, not in rivalry and
jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for
the desires of the flesh.

You know, it's pretty hard to hold down a regular job or keep a
relationship together if you're engaged in all these activities you
seem to think us "sinners" are constantly engaged in. You are like
Chicken Little, calm the ***** down. We don't need your panic stricken
warnings to keep our lives together.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for

Does that sentence actually mean something?

It means bind yourself with the I Am, and you will be all you can be.
He will do everything you do, and life will be abundant.

Great. Translating gibberish into different gibberish. That was a big
help. Can anyone translate gibberish into English?

One fine day in alt.atheism, "Mark Earnest" <gmearnest@yahoo.com>
bloodied us up with this:

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for
the desires of the flesh.

Does that sentence actually mean something?

It means bind yourself with the I Am,

Isn't that a brand of dog food?

and you will be all you can be.

Careful, the US Army already has a copyright on that slogan.

He will do everything you do, and life will be abundant.

Life is already too abundant, thanks to the Catholic drive against birth

It's actually perfect advice for Christians. It says, "spend all your
time praying and NEVER have sex". If only they had all started
obeying it 200 years ago, we'd now be talking about an extinct
religion.

No.
Let's review the Ten Commandments:
11 Obey what I command you today. I will drive out before you the
Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 12
Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where
you are going, or they will be a snare among you. 13 Break down their
altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles.
[a] 14 Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is
Jealous, is a jealous God.
15 "Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land;
for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to
them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices. 16 And
when you choose some of their daughters as wives for your sons and
those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will lead
your sons to do the same.
17 "Do not make cast idols.
18 "Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days eat bread
made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time
in the month of Abib, for in that month you came out of Egypt.
19 "The first offspring of every womb belongs to me, including all
the firstborn males of your livestock, whether from herd or flock. 20
Redeem the firstborn donkey with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it,
break its neck. Redeem all your firstborn sons.
"No one is to appear before me empty-handed.
21 "Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest;
even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.
22 "Celebrate the Feast of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat
harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year. [b] 23
Three times a year all your men are to appear before the Sovereign
LORD, the God of Israel. 24 I will drive out nations before you and
enlarge your territory, and no one will covet your land when you go up
three times each year to appear before the LORD your God.
25 "Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything
containing yeast, and do not let any of the sacrifice from the
Passover Feast remain until morning.
26 "Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of
the LORD your God.
"Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk."
27 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Write down these words, for in
accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with
Israel." 28 Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights
without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets
the words of the covenant-the Ten Commandments.
1. Just the other day, I made a pact with some Perizzites, Hivites,
and even a Jebusite. I haven't attacked their altars or even cut
down their Asherath poles.
2. I thanked Ceres for my breakfast.
3. I didn't make a cast idol, but I made one out of Play Doh.
4. I did not celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
5. He ain't about to get my kids. He can have all the kittens my
cat just had if he wants them, though.
6. I worked this weekend.
7. I don't even know what the Feast of Weeks is and I'm not
celebrating it, unless of course I can get drunk off my ***** and go to
a tittie bar to celebrate it.
8. I didn't do a sacrifice, so I guess I'm okay there.
9. I seethed a goat in its mother's milk a couple of days ago.
Well, not really, but I had a pepperoni pizza.
So I haven't kept the ten commandments. Thanks for asking

Um... uh....
"Mass" is strictly a Roman Catholic thing, and is foreign to either
LDS or Protestant beliefs. Neither Protestants nor LDS believe
that the communion bread is actually the body of Christ.
You might want to actually *learn* what others believe before
presuming (in your ignorance) to criticize them.

You are only contributing to the problem.

Yes, *ignorance*.

Irrelevant.
If you have an issue with "Viva Padre Pio", you could have
(and should have, IMO) *emailed* him personally, rather than
spouting your garbage back onto multiple cross-posted groups.

Here's a link about that "Padre Pio" :

I couldn't care less about him.
I'm reading this from alt.religion.mormon, and as I already
explained to you, LDS (ie. "Mormons") don't believe that
the communion bread is literally the body of Christ.
If you posted by mistake, intending instead to email "padre pio",
then may I suggest that you learn what you are doing?
And if you think that cross-posting to multiple groups just
because you don't happen to like a post (by one person) that
was posted to your group is a good thing, may I suggest that
it only adds to the problem?

I am kind of glad that we get these cross posts b/c it is intesting to hear

As you did by first replying to my post on all the four groups :
alt.religion, alt.religion.mormon, soc.culture.jewish, alt.atheism

You might want to actually *learn* what others believe before
presuming (in your ignorance) to criticize them.

Ignorance?

Yes, *ignorance*.

No, actual knowledge that the OP is a shill for a bizarre cult, just
like you are.

Have you even checked the poster's screen name, "Viva Padre
Pio"?

Irrelevant.

100% relevant, since the OP cross-posted his crap on four ngs :
alt.religion, alt.religion.mormon, soc.culture.jewish, alt.atheism

If you have an issue with "Viva Padre Pio", you could have
(and should have, IMO) *emailed* him personally, rather than
spouting your garbage back onto multiple cross-posted groups.

Again, just like what you did when you first replied to my post.

Here's a link about that "Padre Pio" :

I couldn't care less about him.

Maybe you should. You're a "christian", after all, aren't you? Mind
you, battles amongst so-called "christians" amuse me to no end.

I'm reading this from alt.religion.mormon, and as I already
explained to you, LDS (ie. "Mormons") don't believe that
the communion bread is literally the body of Christ.

Take it up with all the other "christian" sects. They're a dime a
dozen...

If you posted by mistake, intending instead to email "padre pio",
then may I suggest that you learn what you are doing?

I know what I'm doing : responding to cultists who try to shovel their
strange beliefs down my throat.

And if you think that cross-posting to multiple groups just
because you don't happen to like a post (by one person) that
was posted to your group is a good thing, may I suggest that
it only adds to the problem?

The OP was *also* posted to your group. Can't you read headers?
BTW, since you're there : if you have any clout in your sect, could
you please tell your "elders" to stop your "missionaries" from
preaching in Montreal metro stations? No only is it offensive in the
first place, they preach in *English* in a *French* nation.
Disgusting.
Olrik
P.S.: Original groups (alt.religion, alt.religion.mormon,
soc.culture.jewish, alt.atheism) restored.

One fine day in alt.atheism, "vivapadrepio@aol.com" <vivapadrepio@aol.com>
bloodied us up with this:

And do this because you know the time; it is the hour now for you to
awake from sleep.

You Christians have been asleep, dreaming of jebus, for millennia. While
you were asleep we discovered the earth is not the center of the universe,
and it is not flat. The sun does not revolve around the earth, and it
therefore cannot stop in the sky to give warriors a few extra hours to
kill, maim, plunder and rape, and all those other biblically moral things
they do.
While you were sleeping we discovered that nothing was created by any gods,
as most religions claim. While you were sleeping, we discovered that
mankind (and everything else alive) evolved over great periods of time.
We've found solid evidence that the earth is MUCH older than your silly
scriptures insinuate. We've found a way to use human DNA from stem cells
to create human tissue, even organs that can be transplanted into the human
body to save lives. And we can create new humans without sexual union, in
a test tube, and using cloning procedures.
By comparison, you believe people can be cured of disease by praying for
them.
WAKE UP!
