Object: Are You Obeying The Ten Commandments? 4-2-2007.
Romans 13: 11-14.
And do this because you know the time; it is the hour now for you to
awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first
believed; the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then
throw off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us
conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and
drunkeness, not in promiscuity and licentiousness, not in rivalry and
jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for
the desires of the flesh.

and every other belief and/or faith has something along the
same lines.
these 'rules to live by' are all man made, like our gods

Shabbos) and sunday (traditional Christian sabbath).
what's the deal?

There is no commandment in Torah prohibiting posting on the
internet on the Sabbath.
(And FYI, Sunday isn't the Christian "Sabbath".)
And finally, you might (if you insist on criticizing CHRISTians),
want to read about what Christ said about the Sabbath being
made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

you."
Now, some christian scholars believe because Jesus died on the first
day, we take the first day off instead of the last day off to remember him.
In either case, you're taking 6 days of work, 1 day off.
Christ might have said that the Sabbath being made for man, but I'm
fairly certain the torah and the talmud have different things to say.

There are some occupations which require one to work on the Sabbath..(Like
my job as a nurse, and I don't feel remotely guilty b/c it is a necessary
role.).
There are other jobs like police force, , DR, paramedic, solider...blah blah
blah...I am sure that religious wig nuts would complain if they had a car
wreck on a Sunday and no one was there to help them in a medical capacity
b/c they were all too busy observing the sabbath..

Exodus 20:8

"Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy."

That says nothing prohibiting posting on the internet on the
Sabbath.

Deuteronomy 5:12

"Observe the sabbath day and keep it holy as the Lord your God commanded
you."

That says nothing prohibiting posting on the internet on the
Sabbath.

Now, some christian scholars believe because Jesus died on the first day,
we take the first day off instead of the last day off to remember him.

Sunday is not the "Christian Sabbath", no matter how many
times you want to claim it is.

Christ might have said that the Sabbath being made for man, but I'm fairly
certain the torah and the talmud have different things to say.

Torah doesn't contradict Christ,
and the talmud is irrelevant, having no authority.

If they become gravely ill what then? Don't seek medical help? If there is a
fire. don't call the fire brigade b/c that would mean they have to get
someone to work? Just curious? There must be some logic applied..

Commandments are superseded by matters of health or life and death. For
example, pregnant women are not expected to fast on Yom Kippur because
that could affect their health. Similarly, one could call the fire
department if there were a fire on Shabbat.
Halacha (Jewish canon law) has kept up with the times to some extent. My
favorite example is elevators - people should not be expected to walk up
the stairs to their high-rise apartment (or when visiting hospitals
etc), so the device that recaptures potential energy from a descending
elevator is disabled, so that no work is done, and fewer sparks kindled.
Whatever works...

Actually, Jesus' authority derives from scripture that explicitly states
that the messiah will follow jewish law and the rules for what is and is
not allowed during the sabbath is in the old testament.
This is why Jesus is not the messiah. Because assholes like you still

I'd cite my sources, but do I really need to cite any number of
Rabbinical teachings on why Jesus is not the messiah, or how it relates
to the sabbath, or how it relates to the sabbath, creation, genesis, and
the ten commandments? No, because I doubt you'd even read them.

Are You Obeying The Ten Commandments? 4-2-2007.

The Bible vs The Padre 4-2-2007

Romans 13: 11-14.

Romans 13:8-10
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth
another hath fulfilled the law.
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill,
Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou
shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is
briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself.
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the
fulfilling of the law.
That's it, padre. Love is the fullfillment of the law. The rest of
your twaddle is irrelevant.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, ...

Care to give us a demo, padre?
Regards,
Josef

quite another.

No response, padre?
Doesn't surprise me.

You know, Ed Gien used to "put on" people. That happened sometime
_after_ he managed to quiet his "desires for the flesh".
Somehow, I just can't see me putting on the Lord Jesus Christ in quite
the same way - though it would certainly be interesting to try....

And do this because you know the time; it is the hour now for you to

throw off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us
conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and

You know, it's pretty hard to hold down a regular job or keep a
relationship together if you're engaged in all these activities you
seem to think us "sinners" are constantly engaged in. You are like
Chicken Little, calm the ***** down. We don't need your panic stricken

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for
the desires of the flesh.

Does that sentence actually mean something?

It means bind yourself with the I Am, and you will be all you can be.
He will do everything you do, and life will be abundant.
