...please, think of other religions, okay?

It's Christmas, and I'm not celebrating gods or thinking about religions.
I'm lazing around, content on doing no work whatsoever. Then this evening
we're getting together with friends for a tasty meal and beers.

The only people being simple minded are atheists. They have no concept
of humanity, no concept that religion is important to 95% of the world,
and zero tolerance for those who celebrate said religions.
Sad. Very sad.

If you dislike us so much, then post to another newsgroup, perhaps one
dedicated to religion. This isn't the only corner of usenet, you know.

The only people being simple minded are atheists.

Actually we're the open-minded ones, because we recognize
that religious concepts of truth exclude all other possibilities,
which is one reason why theocracies are so dangerous.

They have no concept of humanity,

We recognize that humanity is gullible and foolish, as do your
preachers...

No concept that religion is important to 95% of the world

Prove it. You can't. Anyway, belief in gods is not natural,
and only comes about due to child abuse in the form of
religious indoctrination.

zero tolerance for those who celebrate said religions.

Actually it's religious nuts like you who have zero tolerance
toward atheists, toward other religions, toward anyone
who thinks different or has free will.

You hardly need religion to do that... although
perhaps Bacchus' followers could have offered some
advice back in the day.

Define religion. Because when I look at
capitalism I see a religion there, too,
including blind faith in the market,
investment "gurus" everywhere spouting
nonsense, people running off to malls to engage
in semi-spiritual life-affirming shopping etc etc.
And so in that case, Xmas truly *is* a religious
holiday, for capitalism that is.

No, you don't.

Some capitalists. But that isn't a religion unless you expand the word
until it is meaningless.

The word 'theist' means 'one who believes in god'. Please, in the
future, open a dicitionary and learn something before you post.

What can I say? The holidays tend to make me overly generous to those
of intelectual poverty, such as this mind addled specimen. It'll pass
soon enough, as I'm sure he will, too ;)

Yeah, funny how the atheists on an atheist newsgroup aren't much
interrested in the religious aspects of a holiday, eh? The mind, it
boggles.

Did you do the Righteous Christian thing this year, and skip the pagan
