Natural Selection is just enhancing it population control mechanism.
it has determine to rid the world of poverty by striking the poorest of
the poor in the third world.

You know that earthquakes -- even large earthquakes -- happen from time
to time, right? Vaguely prophesizing earthquakes is no more impressive
than me prophesizing that there's going to be a hurricane within the
next twelve months.

I don't need to "decide". The nature of earthquakes is fairly well
understood. This event was a confluence of simple geology and
unfortunate timing. Given that it is a tectonically active region, it
was only a matter of time before it happened, however. Having lived
much of my life in another tectonically active area, I have the utmost
of sympathy for them and can only hope that, someday, we'll be able to
provide meaningfully advanced predictions of such events in order to
minimize their death tolls.
