Sort of weak, useless comment, but it is a "negative" reaction, after
all.

He did not address one single point you raised in the article. To
borrow one of his metaphors, par for the course..<g>

At least you got a response.
Interesting. If atheists shouldn't publish in a 'faith matters' column,
then perhaps believers who rail against atheists and secular humanists
who are 'destroying' the country should publish somewhere else too.

No rules need apply when Gawd is on your side.

That's most Christians for you.

Why publish atheist on the religion page?
The column on your religion page is called "Faith Matters," so I found
it amusing that atheist Eric Harrington's thoughts were published in it
(April 22). If this was a golf column, we would not expect to find the
thinking of a non-golfer published in it, would we? What could someone
who has never tried golf and does not even believe that golf exists have
to say that would benefit the golfing community?
Harrington wrote that he is in the "religious minority." I disagree.
With no belief in God, and without any faith, I say that Harrington is
not in the faith community at all.
It's a free country, and I have no problem with Harrington's atheism or
the Piedmont Freethought Association. However, if the News & Record
finds any of Harrington's ideas worthy of publishing, they belong on the
editorial page, not in a column called "Faith Matters."

I love the one who babbled about "hubris." You want to talk *real hubris?
It's believing there's some massively powerful superbeing capable of
creating whole universes that cares about you and your fate.
Now, *that's hubris...
