Atheism origin |
It seems that some people, faced with a concept they cannot understand,
opt to reject it. But there are some facts that we cannot possibly
reject, like the existence of infinite space, infinite time, and
infinite numbers, which are clearly beyond our grasp. These facts
provide us with a justification to accept concepts we do not
understand.

You are aware that photons have frequency, and length?
No. And a photon has mass. Energy = mass, and in photons
this is refered to as relativistic mass.
Photons have zero rest mass, but that is not ths same as
zero rest mass. Mass with photons works different from
leptons and hadrons.
Try a few basic beginner's online science sites.
where h is a constant (Planck's constant) and f the frequency of the photon
(don't forget that the photon is an electromagnetic WAVE and has a
frequency). If we combine these two equations, we come up with the
following, which gives us the mass of a photon
mc2 = hf => m=hf/c2
which means that though photons don't have rest mass, they do have energy
and thus they have mass. The photons are wave particles. This means that
they act as waves and as particles as well. This is the duality of the
nature of light (and of every particles). And so as particles they have
mass, and as waves they have frequency. The pressure they exert is due to
the particle nature of light. It's easy now to understand the mechanism
that causes this pressure.

Quite.
Like Creationists' lies' every little bit of science that Oakfield
vomits up is just plain wrong.
If he were wiling to learn a little, and not so downright combative in
his abject ignorance, I would consider going through each point with

But he has revealed that he prefers the short-term ease of ignorance,

Good question.
Peter
Do you have an answer?
/Peter
No, but I shan't admit it.
Obviously, unfortunately.
If I may, I would like to summarize my viewpoint:
God is supposed to have had no beginning and to have no end. In other
words, God is supposed to be eternal. Moreover, God is supposed to be
immaterial. Since, understandably, someone may find this too incredible
to be acceptable, I think God has bothered to give us three example of
things that have exactly the same characteristics: space, time, and
energy. Space and time, one can clearly deduce that, of necessity, must
have always existed, and will continue to exist. And physics teaches us
that energy is always conserved, that it cannot be created or
destroyed. This means that whatever amount of energy there is now in
the universe, must have always existed, and will continue to exist
forever. Besides, energy in its radiant form (photons) is immaterial:
it has no mass, weight, or dimensions, but has a powerful effect in
everything it touches. It is up to us to reach the appropriate
conclusion.
Maybe if you post this again, God will come into existence.

It's quite understandable. You folks in Oz got the higher class of

Yep.
Ask an Aussie for money, and he'll give you all his cash.
Ask him for shelter, and he'll give you his home.
As him for a bite to eat, and he'll share his meal.
You don't even have to ask him for a beer, you'll have one thrust in
your parched hand.
But you can't trust those white bastards to do the same.
That's 'Space Invaders' for you.
I do believe that the surviving descendents of the original
inhabitants of the Americas may agree, and rightly so.
Same with Oz. :\
I don't think the Tin Man had any offspring.
Or were they the cans lying around?
Quite uncanney, ey?

Not at all: God wants us to be honest. He will not punish us for
being
honest. Besides, the Bible says that "The will of God is that all be
saved."
Then what's with all the "unbelievers are going to hell" crap?
Now, that doesn't make sense, does it?
Well, duh, of course not.
God wants us to use our
intelligence and be honest
Told you this directly, eh?
. My intelligence tells me that if I don't
believe in something, I don't believe it. I cannot dishonestly pretend
I believe in something I do not. I think we have to follow our
conscience and we will be safe.

There is another world, which is not in this world.
Prove it.
We have the word of God and millions of witnesses.
Ah. Argument from numbers.
When you go to a court of law, and the judge or the jury do not believe
you, you present witnesses. No?
Yes, witnesses. They are less reliable than physical evidence, but they
are the best available when there is an absence of physical evidence. Of
course, for the most part, we do not allow hearsay into court,
particularly self-serving hearsay.
No claims in the Bible could be admitted into court by themselves. A few
of the facts of history that have been corroborated by physical or other
evidence might be allowed.
There is no evidence that you have "The Word of God". There is no
evidence that you have any witnesses to the existence of another world.
Those are parts of a religious faith, not of facts.
You do not have evidence that God does not exist.

Argumentum ad ignorantiam (argument to ignorance). This is the fallacy
of assuming something is true simply because it hasn't been proven
false. For example, someone might argue that global warming is
certainly occurring because nobody has demonstrated conclusively that
it is not. But failing to prove the global warming theory false is not
the same as proving it true.

Not at all: God wants us to be honest. He will not punish us for
being
honest. Besides, the Bible says that "The will of God is that all be

Then what's with all the "unbelievers are going to hell" crap?
Now, that doesn't make sense, does it?
Well, duh, of course not.
God wants us to use our
intelligence and be honest
Told you this directly, eh?

believe in something, I don't believe it. I cannot dishonestly pretend
I believe in something I do not. I think we have to follow our

Yup. The same evidence you have that unicorns do not exist.

Nope, there's objective supporting evidence 'God' does not exist.

You do NOT have the word of any 'god', liar.
I am astounded by the brazen manner in which you lie outright.
And the argumentum ad populum is a logical fallacy, which proves
nothing but the absence of any real point.
I ask again: Prove it.

And which world would be in danger?
Krypton?
Or the one that is in your mind?
