There never was a great civilization of atheists and
there never will be. All great civilizations, the
Egyptians, the Greek, the Romans, the Christian
Europe had a GOD or GODS.
A society needs some kind of religion.
You atheists will just be crushed by the expanding

throughout the country. Before Attaturk Turkey was known
as "The Sick man of Europe" and decaying. He turned it into a modern
secular democracy and whilst still a relatively poor country it stands
head and shoulder over the Middle east. Now the Islamist, just

All depends on how you count things. I can make a good argument for
Rome lasting some 1600 years or even longer. It was probably the
single most dominant political concept in Europe until the 20th
century when the ideological wars took over. And Britain sure does not
count as an atheistic culture.
