ATHEISTS & SEPARATIONISTS TO RALLY SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2003
                  AT U.S. CAPITOL TO PROTEST
           TEN COMMANDMENTS MISINFORMATION CAMPAIGN!
AMERICAN ATHEISTS invites all Atheists, Freethinkers, Humanists and
other state-church separationists to join us in our nation's capital
this Sunday, October 5, 2003 as we speak out against the Ten
Commandments Misinformation Campaign!
The Christian Coalition and other supporters of defrocked Alabama
Chief Justice Roy Moore are "on the road" with a Commandments
Caravan, hoping to build support for legislation that would permit
the display of the Decalogue on public property.  They insist that
government has a duty to "acknowledge God" even if it means
preventing judicial review of such unconstitutional acts.  The 11th
U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recently upheld a ruling that Moore's
installation of the Commandments in the foyer of the Alabama Judicial
Building violated the constitutional separation of church and state.
The "Spirit of Montgomery" Commandments road show has been rallying
in state capitals, and will reach Washington, DC this weekend.
JOIN US IN PEACEFUL protest beginning at 3:00 PM on the WEST lawn of
the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, DC this Sunday, October 5,
2003.  We suggest gathering at about 2:45.  The Commandments Caravan
organizers have a permit for a section of the West lawn, and we will
be staging our event nearby.  Look for our banners and signs.
