Atheists and Christians are both right. |
What if the physical universe is God? Some have an anthropomorphic
concept to God. Some claim he/she are omnipresence. Some think of God
having a Human form. What if God is just the physical universe? You got
to admit that the physical design of the universe is intricate and
abstract! As a Agnostic I think about things like this.

What if the physical universe is God?
It isn't. God is the proper name of an ancient tribal deity with buttocks.

Why bother calling it God? Why not call it a carrot...or a water

That's like naming your dog "God" and using that as an argument that God
exists!

Whatever floats your boat. If you wish, you can build a church
dedicated to the universe and worship it. There have been plenty of
stupider beliefs.

I see. Your idea of a worthwhile response to a sincere and thoughtful
posting about a deeply felt issue is to append some 'amusing' apology for
unprovoked violence of a kind that would have had a towering genius like
Shakespeare subjected to brutal attack and probable brain damage? The same
Shakespeare who, with his superhuman ability to explore simultaneously a
variety of mutually contradictory moral positions, motivations and
experiential realities, enriched our lives beyond measure and constituted a
cultural and spiritual phenomenon that knocks the barbaric platitudes of
your 'Bible' into the *****-bucket?

You could not come up with the superb verbiage for a story, given a
sitcom plot. Turn any 3's company plot into a play to refute the Bard.
I would like to see this is a new thread. I don't think the man invented
(any | all) the stories, he took things previously made and turned them
into plays at an incredible speed. But I truly admire his "turn of
phrase" as he was definitely a wordsmith genius!
No one may depreciate a man for using a story idea and making it his
own.
You suck.

Indeed he did. And I hold no brief for the kind of nonsense that 'saves' the
concept of (unfindable) 'God' by *making it co-extensive with all of
discoverable reality*. My judgement was that the post was, within its
limitations, thoughtful and sincerely meant, however. And that's good enough
for me.
What's more, if it *wasn't* sincerely meant, then your friend's

Speculation is fun, but unless you can offer some evidence in support
of a speculation, it's nothing more than mental masturbation.
Some have an anthropomorphic
concept to God. Some claim he/she are omnipresence. Some think of God
having a Human form. What if God is just the physical universe?
If the word "God" is merely a synonym for the physical universe, it's
redundant and unnecessary. If your suggestion is that the physical
universe has some characteristics that we typically associate with the
concept -- say a will and an ability to act upon that will -- then you
will need to offer more than simple suppositions.
You got
to admit that the physical design of the universe is intricate and
abstract!
Intricate, certainly. Abstract? I'm honestly not sure how you mean
that.
As a Agnostic I think about things like this.
That's nice. Grand speculations can be fun (much like real
masturbation); however, if you want to do more than throw around
gee-whiz ideas, you need to bolster some of them with compelling
evidence.

That sentence has no sensible meaning that I can understand.
If you *meant* to write "what if the physical universe is a god" or
"what if I choose to call the Physical Universe "God" and worship it"
or something along those lines...
Then I say : I don't care.
Anybody can make anything they like 'god' - it is entirely their own
buisness what they choose to venerate and worship.
I don't worship or venerate *any* god - I am godless.
Some have an anthropomorphic

What if Michael Jackson is an Octopus?
.....
And so on.

Sure, the universe is intricate. Intricate means having many smaller
elements. There is complexity to the universe, no doubt, but complexity
derives from simplicity.
A computer is a complex machine, yet it is simply silicon, iron, carbon,
and a couple other simple elements.
Looking at the universe and seeing its complexity and assuming that it
must've been "designed" is missing the trees for the forest.
