Atheist's Creed, whats not to trust? |
I did an internet search for this so called "Atheist Creed" found
one...it was a humanist creed to be sure, but to call it THE atheists
creed is rather a stretch. This was followed by page after page after
page of hits of theists talking about an atheists creed(sprinkled with
a few bits of sarcasm or parodies as well as the occasional atheist
saying there is no creed), not the one I found but some theist's seem
to believe exist.
So apparently theist aren't just happy with beleiving in their own non-
existent diety, but also apparently believe in some sort of universal
"Atheists Creed" that they also just make up. I used to think it was
an exaggeration by Mr. Lee, but evidence is starting to lead me to the
conclusion that theism naturally leads people to be liars.

I was wondering about that creed nonsense, I've seen it quite often in
the past month or so...seemed to be one of those memes that pop out of
nowhere and spread quickly, like cute cat pictures. I hope it goes away
faster than cat pictures.
If there was suddenly some creed I was required to follow --I wouldn't.

Mad Hatter was a nickname, back in the day, somewhere about 1990people
just started calling me Hatter, I stuck with it. Given 3 years with

When I was a lad, and I wanted to know what Mormonism was
about, I asked a Mormon. I got information about Judaism
from a Rabbi. A Muslim explained Islam to me. And so forth.
By contrast, too many Christians I've met are willing to
take their own religious leaders' word regarding the tenets

ignorance, and at worst, bigotry.

And having put yourself in their personal space by doing that, I'll
bet you listened, tried to understand and didn't try to prove their
beliefs wrong.
Which is something else too many Christians can't seem to do.
By contrast, too many Christians I've met are willing to
take their own religious leaders' word regarding the tenets
of other religions. That is a recipe for, at best,
ignorance, and at worst, bigotry.
And because they trust their leaders, it means they don't believe what
we say when we correct them.
Which is the root of their arrogant nastiness when they insist they
know our minds better than we do ourselves, when they try to "prove"
they're right, ignore dictionary definitions which don't support them
to cherry pick ones that do etc.
Even though anybody with a shred of decency would realise that when
there is a dispute between what they tell us our position is, and what
we say it is, we are the final arbiter.
They have so little respect for others that they cannot grant we might
actually be telling the truth about ourselves.

Here's some evidence to the contrary. ;)
As for this "atheist creed", well, morontheists can't live with the fact
that other people's thinking differs _severely_ from their own. If they
have a creed, then The Enemy(TM) _must_ have one also. If they kiss the
arse of jebus, then Darwinists(TM) _must_ suck Darwin's *****. If they
accept the crap in da wholly babble as truth, then Dem Ebil Fags(TM) _must_
have a "gay agenda written in blood" in their homes, signed with their own
blood.
Et cetera, ad nauseam. (Well, actually we can leave the et cetera out and
start with the nausea right away)

Thank you.
But I don't call them liars first time round, unless it's particularly
egregious.
They get a chance, when they get corrected, with an explanation why
common usage definitions of atheist are wrong.
But very few admit their mistake. So we get lectured on what it

fabrications.
But by then it is no longer an honest mistake. Common courtesy demands

You trotted out your God?, wow you'd think there would have been a
news conference or something
or are you.....lying?
They always finish up having to lie - they call it 'lying for god'
as if their credo isn't already a joke !

a few bits of sarcasm or parodies as well as the occasional atheist
saying there is no creed), not the one I found but some theist's seem

So apparently theist aren't just happy with beleiving in their own non-
existent diety, but also apparently believe in some sort of universal
"Atheists Creed" that they also just make up. I used to think it was
an exaggeration by Mr. Lee, but evidence is starting to lead me to the
conclusion that theism naturally leads people to be liars.
Thank you.
But I don't call them liars first time round, unless it's particularly
egregious.
They get a chance, when they get corrected, with an explanation why
common usage definitions of atheist are wrong.
But very few admit their mistake. So we get lectured on what it
"really" means to be atheist, told we're mistaken, and all sorts of
fabrications.
But by then it is no longer an honest mistake. Common courtesy demands
that they grant us the respect of knowing what our own position is.
Anything else is arrogant and rude.
Strange isn't it how you selected the word 'arrogance' as this is what
underlines religionists beliefs and actions the world over.
Sorry that we frighten you so much, but your soliution is simple.
Just trot out your god and the millions of atheists will then all
disappear
in a puff of smoke
I did, and they didn't.
