atheists fear God, pt 2 |
How many things do you dismiss without comments? The Supreme Court
does it all the time. You see something on tv that you don't like.
What do you do...throw a fit, write a letter to the tv station and
program creator? Likely, you simply change the channel. What about
people you don't like? Do you seek out people you don't like to tell
them you dislike them? Likely, you just don't go near them.
Considering this, why do you think atheists spend so much time arguing
against God. If they dismissed religion as being true, they should
just drop it and find other ways to fulfill their life. Is that what
happens? No. They spend all day..all night..all the time to find
religious people to rebuke. They look for arguements to say there is
no God. Why is it that they cannot just let it go? The reason is that
they fear that their might actually be a God. They feel the Holy
Spirit's conviction and know there is a God. The fear of God is what
drives them to argue against God. There is no other excuse.

Because that is what Usenet is for. Otherwise you're wrong -- atheists
rarely ever think about religion.

Wrong. I spend about two hours a day on the net, total. About twenty
minutes of that, on avaerage is spent reading Usenet. Which means
about twen minutes of my day is spent reading alt.atheism.
That means I mostly skim, looking for interesting threads or the
people I read on a regular basis. I do not seek out Christians. If I
did that I would be subscribed to all the various religion NGs. No, I
just pound on the unwelcome, unwanted morons like you that can't
*stand* the thought of atheists getting together without your point of
view being shoved down our throats.
Tell me, what did Jesus tell his followers to do when people rejected
his message? Why don't you do the same?

1) Only in alt.atheism. Otherwise your god is a non-issue to us.
2) And, then, only because you Christians try to push your god down
our throats. If you didn't post to alt.atheism we wouldn't have any
god claims to respond to, would we?

What do you suppose the reason might be?
Let me be blunt: it's because assholes like you keep getting in our
face about it. Quite frankly, I wouldn't give a flying ***** about
religion, if I didn't keep getting it shoved down my throat at every
possible opportunity.
Overlooking that particular brand of incredible rudeness and
presumption for the moment, what's far worse is that you and your kind
persist in actively trying to legislate your delusional beliefs into
the law of the land, and frighteningly, are another stolen election or
Supreme Court appointment away from being able to do so in the US at
will, which will not only make us more of a laughingstock to the rest
of the world than we already are, but set us up for generations of
economic decline, as education is replaced by indoctrination, and
science takes a back burner to interpretations of the Bible that even
the vast majority of Christians agree are utterly fatuous, but are
tailor-made to allow a bunch of cynical Orwellian pigs (who don't even
believe in them, for the most part), to rule over a nation of
compliant sheep, whom they intend to first fleece, and eventually eat,
with zero concern for the long-term consequences, as long as their
appetites are satisfied, and the dogs are appeased.
You're a festering boil on the ***** of humanity, and the sooner people
wake up and realize just how idiotic and primitive your bronze-age
superstitions are, not to mention how ultimately harmful, the better
it will be for the world. Seriously, go ***** yourself. No, I mean
really, *go ***** yourself*. Underline it. Run it up a fucking flagpole
and salute it. Take your fucking superstitions, and shove them so far
up your ***** that they take out the pea-sized reptilian brain that
allows you to pass for a nominally functioning carbon-based life form,
and understand that the only reason I repeatedly use the expression
"go ***** yourself" is because I realize that dealing with more than
one polysyllabic word in a phrase is beyond your grasp, so I need to
reduce it to your level.
Anyway, just some food for thought for you. Peace.

Because it is disturbing to see people think that what they merely
believe is actually true. In an effort to enlighten them, and relieve
them of the burdens of their delusions, atheists tirelessly and
selflessly endeavor to set them straight.
If they dismissed religion as being true, they should
just drop it and find other ways to fulfill their life.
Dismissed as being true? If you would simply dismiss it as being false
then they could just drop it and find other ways to fulfill their
lives.

Because they are persistant. Why is that you cannot bear their
arguments? Has it shaken your faith?
The reason is that
they fear that their might actually be a God.
It's more likely that you fear that their actually is no god.
They feel the Holy
Spirit's conviction and know there is a God.
You feel empty and powerless and deep down, you know there is no god.
If there was, you wouldn't have to believe it.
The fear of God is what
drives them to argue against God.
Your fear that there is no god is what makes you intolerant of
reality.

We didn't look for you mate, you came here of you own, compelled
by you figmental god, will and gave us all a good laugh! Thanks for
cheering me up on this cold wet winter morning. You Christians are of
great value to us, every day you provide me with a happy half hours
amusement.
I particularly like examples of Christian logic. There was one
from a certain Mr Dean that I found highly amusing. Deans
law which involves a cat, an octopus and something he called
god was one of the funniest examples yet. Using this logic
he proved not only that this god existed but that it also
did not exists at one and the same time. God = NOT god.
By the normal laws of logic this is impossible of course but
you can prove any thing if you are christ-ian
Of course there is a serious side to all this. Every citizen in a
democratic country has a duty to defend his country and to
protect its values. Freedom and democracy is extremely
important to us and we need to ensure these values are never
taken away from us by the baneful trinity. We have seen the effects
of this control. Islam in the Middle East and all the suffering there
as a result, Judaism in Palestine where they are attempting to
destroy the Palenstinian people and of course Christianity
in Europe and the misery that caused.
We must be ever vigilant to ensure these things never occur again.
This means we must keep Christians under constant surveillance and
ensure that their lies and deceipts are exposed. You know this of
cours which is the reason you hate and detest us because you see us
as standing in your way. We see the dangers of closed mind ignorant
and dangerous beliefs in gods and what it does to people.
We all know that lies - such as your lies about us - if told often
enough tend to be accepted as true if not challenged. So every time
you tell them we will have to refute them. No reason why we cannot
have fun with it though
Yes, your web site is the nice friendly face of Christianity with
all the wonderful promises but behind the scenes we see the reality
of your nasty little cult. The hate and spite that you hurl on those
you percieve to be stopping you real agenda. Never again will we
allow you to control our lives and the way we can think.

Why do you think 5.66 minus 5.65 equals .14?
duke's erroneous version:

"It's also very dramatic to note that the sudden change in direction
occurred in Clinton's 2nd term with the start of the Clinton recession

The correct version, when you realize that 5.66-5.65=.01:

Don't be daft man. You know that's a silly thing to say.
You don't just turn away from religion - you fight it tooth and nail, scared to
death.
You are right we do fight the dangers that religion poses. People
like you that think threats will get us to toe your religious line.
Sorry but that kind of superstitious nonesense lost its effect
a long time ago. We have had more than enough religious
control.
Man, I'm so thankful I'm not like you.
Be happy in your delusion. Just one problem. One second
before you die you will be afraid of going to hell. One second
after you won't know you went nowhere as you will be dead.
Dead, dead, dead, dead. that all just dead. That's what you
are really afraid of hence why invent this supposedly
wonderful afterlife. You know I am right but afraid to admit
it.

As the head of the Philosphy Department, Professor Magnus, pointed out
to me (lo, these many years back!): The Christians don't mind at all
when they find the occasional atheist wino, the sort of fellow depicted
in Chick comics. It reassures the Christian that all is right with the
world, the unbelievers are degenerate or punished, etc.
But when they find out that a middle class university professor (in a
*real university) is atheist, is sober, fit, has a sane family, and
worst of all, is *happy... they go nuts. People like Duke can't stand
the idea that there is anyone, let alone millions, of perfectly normal
people who are disinterested in his mythologies and are sane and
content.
Reminds me of the parties I would go to in the sixties. Some pothead
would come up and offer me a toke "No thanks, I'm cool." "Go on man,
take a hit." "Next time, maybe, I'm cool, really!" "Dude! Here!"
"Aacckk! Go away!"
The real addicts just couldn't stand seeing folks who weren't getting

let them be; we had to limp with their crutch, too.

Yet they never explain why they want us to pretend (believe) this
concept of a god exists along with all the strange baggage that goes
with it. It would be nice to think their is an after life but that is
clearly not possible. It would be nice if entreaties to this god
prevented things like Tsunami's and other disasters from occuring
but of course they don't, so I can see no possible reason for such
a pretence. It seems to have no value at all. Maybe there is a placebo
effect for those simple minded folk who take comfort from having
an imaginary friend to take over their lives for them and I can
understand but even then their is the danger that they may be
manipulated.

There are two sound reasons why atheists offer evidence there is no god.
1. Atheists are constantly harassed by laws and religious types that try to
impose their religious beliefs and practices on others. It's the same reason
we oppose, dishonest con men and vicious and dangerous dictatorships.
2. As human beings we like to help others to live full and happy lives
unencumbered by religious fears. It's the same reason we give directions to
those who are lost.

Indeed. KC mentioned Lenin. I take it he knows nothing of Lenin's
predecessor Czar Nicholas II. He was a very pious Christian who
believed he was gods representative on earth and had the right to
devine rule. He dismissed the Duma (the primititive Parliament) He
was the worst kind of dictator you could have in that he was totally
incompetent. He sent his soldiers by the millions into battle ill
equipped, badly trained and poorly led thinking god would provide.
Soldiers went into battle having been blessed and urged on by their
religious 'pastors'
People of good will desperate to defend their country tried to
organise things a bit better so the troops could be better equipped.
Industrialist and local officials attempted to form soviets (Russian
word for committee) to organise production and supply of
materials but the Czar had them broken up and arrested. All
attempts at forming some kind of leadership and government
was prevented by the Czar oblivious to the suffering of his
people. He lived in his massive luxurious palace and prayed to his
god. We all know of the influence Rasputin had over his wife
and him.
The Russians soldiers had tremendous setbacks and German
troop just walked over them ranging deep into Russian territory.
In the end Russian began to collapse into chaos. The Czar was
arrested and a new government formed. They failed to act decisivly
and Lenin with his bolsheviks took over and immediately ended the
war.
The fledgling Communist government was immediately under
attack by dissaffected 'White' Christians who began a devastating
civil war against an already war ravaged country.
As we know Russia, under ferocious attack twice in the century by
Germany, which cost millions of lives and much destruction, followed
by a major threat of invasion and nuclear destruction by the USA
never really managed to recover and eventually collapsed under
the strain.
The baleful trinity. Who needs it?
