"ATHEISTS IN FOXHOLES" URGED TO SUPPORT
LEGACY PROJECT, WARLETTERS.COM
The Atheists in Foxholes Task Force which is organizing the historic
Parade and Rally slated for Veterans Day, 2005, is also urging all
retired and active duty military personnel, their friends and families
to support the "Legacy Project" inspired by author Andrew Carroll.
Carroll's book, "BEHIND THE LINES: Powerful and Revealing American and
Foreign War Letters -- and One Man's Search to Find Them," is a
gathering of over 200 rare and previously unknown letters found by Mr.
Carroll during his travels. It includes previously un-published
letters by Kurt Vonnegut and Douglas MacArthur, vivid descriptions of
warfare, secret messages from POWs to loved ones during captivity, and
much more.
The Legacy Project lives at http://www.warletters.com as an on-line
archive of such materials, and includes reading guides, tips on
preserving letters, and call for materials from visitors. We urge you
to support the Legacy Project so it may include letters from "Atheists
in Foxholes."
