attacks on "alternative" |
Seems like no matter what the ideology, the mainstream is always sure
to attack and scapegoat and crucify the "trouble-maker"
Obviously there's some truth to the French Freudian pscyoanalyst
theory of phallic scapegoating.
Perhaps Jesus Christ so "offended" the conventional religionists, they
singled him out (a la Lynch mentality) to villify, demonize, and
finally HANG.
In the American South, scores of black men were secretly snatched away
in the middle of the night, sometimes beaten or mutilated, sometimes
branded, sometimes castrated, and finally lynched!!!!
The phallic "challenge" to the existing mentality has to be destroyed.
How far removed from the pharmakos (human sacrifices) of ancient
tribal Greece.
We all have a tribal subconscious, and that tribal subconscious is
surely not very far beneath the surface of our smug rationality.
Even to this day "society" crucifies the sexually honest. Look at the
gay-bashing. Look at Matthew Shepard. Look at the Happy Valley
murders.

Perhaps he existed.
But I doubt it.
