The point is this - We have a real and just war in Afghanistan which
we really need to win. However, Bush pulled so many resources,
including time, men and money, that our troops there are having
an even more difficult time there. Afghanistan was the war to
take on the terrorists. Now we have two theaters and matters
are worsening in BOTH. I agree with taking Saddam out but
it could have been done other ways, i.e. Col Hackworth
suggested we tighten the noose around his country, fund
opposition groups, and bomb the crap out of his military
infrastructure. Even Hackworth knew going in with
a full ground invasion was crazy. It also appears
doubtfull that Bush ever reviewed or even
demanded a post Saddam *PLAN* and
never defined an exit strategy.
