MORE than 20 babies have been aborted in advanced pregnancy because scans
showed that they had club feet, a deformity readily corrected by surgery or
physiotherapy.
According to figures from the Office for National Statistics covering the
years from 1996 to 2004, a further four babies were aborted because they had
webbed fingers or extra digits, which are also corrected by simple surgery.
All the terminations took place late in pregnancy, after 20 weeks.
Last year, according to campaigners, a healthy baby was aborted in the sixth
month at a hospital in southeast England after ultrasound images indicated
part of its foot was missing.
News of the terminations has reignited the debate over how scanning and gene
technology may enable the creation of "designer babies". In 2002 it emerged
that a baby had been aborted late - at 28 weeks - after scans found that it
had a cleft palate, another readily corrected condition.

Obviously you know nothing about genetics (not surprising). No single
gene causes any specific type of behavior. When it's said that
homosexuality may have a genetic cause, this isn't what's meant.
Further, a person's sexual orientation isn't determined by genetic
factors alone. Environment also plays a role.
It's utterly impossible--and always will be--to determine if a fetus
will be gay or not.
If a parent will kill their pre-born baby because of a clubbed-foot, how much
chance does a little homo have? Not much. My way of thinking will save these
lives.

I can potentially see how you might select children for being gay or
ugly (if they're even identifiable genetically), but short of albinism,
skin color tends to be quite similar to those of the parents. How many
people are going to abort a fetus because it will look like them?
Beyond that, it is already the case that the mother will nearly always
know the skin color of the child, since she knows the father. Being
able to choose an abortion based on the color of the child's skin is
nothing new.
