Bare butts! Save me, Christian FCC, save me! |
So we have a "wardrobe malfunction" resulting in the visual dissemination
of a breast with accompanying nipple and that's worth $50,000 plus in fines
as an effort to some how protect children from the awful knowledge that
women have breasts (shudder.)
Well, last night on "60 Minutes" there were bare butts and male genitals
waving around in the air -- and for some strange reason now a single
rightard Christian moron has stepped forward to play "shrinking violet"
and yarking off about "saving our children!" from such displays.
Strange.
It's _almost_ as if public nudity on television is only wrong when it can
be used as political ammunition by Christian extremist Republidiots.

Especially when they're on 1-year-old boys. That is what Frederic Rice
failed to mention. In this 60 Minutes segment on the Mokans, they
showed several 1-2-year-old boys with full-frontal-nudity.

I have always suspectd that it has to do with deep culture.
In desert enviroments where its nation against nation, tribe
against tribe, man against man and has been since the beginning
of time in the Near East, a shieik, a leader of a tribe, the basic
real unit ofteh Near East had to keep his loyalties to the tribe
clear and straight to keep command of his tribe and their lands.
So that meant keeping straight who was related to who and who had
obligations to who. Every man that could handle a spear or a sword was
important. They had to be relied on. So sex became not just procreation,
more sword weilders, but part of a very rigid structure.
Women who were lose broke that structure because lines were
blurred and men could beg off demanded loyalities.
So women were kept out of site and mind of possible hanky panky.
Hence the great Biblical commands that Israelite women were not to marry
among Canaanites and similar. And death penalties for adultery.
And for homosexuality. A man who did not marry early and raise lots
of sons would be considered a traitor to his clan.
This got written in the 'the laws' and thus is still part
of christian 'morality'.
It made sense when it was tribe against tribe in a never
ending battle between empires, petty nations and tribe
of trade route rights and grazing land, and ancient blood
feuds.

I seem to remember an account recently that a re-airing of a "Family
Guy" episode showed a blurred bare bottom of little Stewie - a *cartoon*
character! The original airing didn't have the blurring.
