Barring Gays From Adopting Not Homophobic Lawmaker Says |
This is the one point that liberals just don't seem to get; it's not
about the parents. The best interest of the child always comes first.
To place a child in an awkward situation like that is cruel. Good
parents or not, the child will be open to ridicule amongst their peers.

Barring Gays From Adopting Not Homophobic Lawmaker Says
Posted: February 3, 2005 5:01 pm. ET
(Little Rock Arkansas) Rep. Bob Adams (D-Sheridan) says that his bill
to ban the state from placing children in "homosexual homes" isn't
meant to discriminate against gays.
"Some people think this bill is an anti-gay bill; it is not," Adams
told a House committee meeting today. "It is not about the gay
population. It's about the children."

Mostly the peers raised by people like you.
Besides, kids will be ridiculed over *anything* that's different.
Should parents who are unable to buy the latest $300 clothing fashion be
prevented from adopting?

So, I should have been taken from mmy home because I was teased about

I'm reminded of a TV show I watched, maybe 9 years ago, when I was
home sick and bored out of my skull. Sally Jesse Raphael, maybe?
Anyway, she had on a KKK family with a little boy and a black family
with a little girl. The kids were about 5. they were being kept in a
room offstage (with an adult watching them).
The KKK parents kept maintaining that they had raised their son
"right" and he would instinctively know to not have anything to do
with the black girl. After a little while of this kind of racist
nonsense, cameras and mics were turned on in the room the kids were
in.
Needless to say, he hadn't been "raised right". He was playing with
the little black girl just as if she were white. His parents were
appalled, but the black parents couldn't hide their amusement.
Now, which parents were better for their child? The parents who
taught hatred or the ones who taught acceptance?

It was Geraldo Rivera & two boys - one black, one white.
Other than that, you were right.

And the KKK mother started complaining that she hadn't been properly
accomodated, but Rivera told her that she got the same accomodations
everyone else did.
I forget if the woman ran to get her son or not - not that it mattered, the
point was made: racism is NOT inherent, and can even be ignored when taught.

(Little Rock Arkansas) Rep. Bob Adams (D-Sheridan) says that his bill to
ban the state from placing children in "homosexual homes" isn't meant to
discriminate against gays.
"Some people think this bill is an anti-gay bill; it is not," Adams told a
House committee meeting today. "It is not about the gay population. It's
about the children."
It seems to me that the logical solution is to work to remove the stigma
associated with being gay. Oh, NO!! There I go, promoting the "Gay Agenda!"

Yes, the republicans have officially ruined this nation. So much so that =
I am now beginning to doubt that it can be saved from the destruction =
that they have initiated with their ignorant bigotry and fascist ways.=20

Sadly to say, in each of the examples you cited, the child has been
ridiculed for what THEY are. With homo parents, the child will become
an object of scorn amongst their peers because of who their parents
are. Gays always say that they were born that way and we should accept
them for what they are. Fine. Now gays should accept that they weren't
born to be parents. Acceptance is a two way street.

Are sterile people born to be parents?

Quite so! Much better to have kids abused by 'normal' straight
parents.
