Battle in Battlecreek |
From:

"BATTLECREEK MICHIGAN (EAP) -- Due to extreme pressure from several
minority groups of conservative Christians who consider themselves the
"moral majority," the letters D and V have been taken out of current
and all future boxes of Post Alpha-Bits cereal, according to an
anonymous inside source at Kraft Foods."
"We ended up taking out the two letters rather than risk a big loss in
sales, or a possible lawsuit," the spokesperson said.
"We don't want our children to possibly see the word "DEVIL" spelled
out in their cereal bowls, and we felt that we needed to take some
kind of action," says Diane Kringleberg, leader of a group of
conservative Republican Christians who say that their next plan of
action is to put an end to the D and V in Campbell's Alphabet soup.
"Soup or Cereal," it's all the same thing to us, she said.

When I saw the two letters, I thought the rationale might be sex education
and venerial disease. "Parents are responsible for teaching their children
about VD and related abominations like homosexuality, bestiality, abortion
and sex outside of marriage," continued Kringleberg. "Not Post. Parents
should have the choice of when and how to bring these subjects up. That
choice is taken away when little children can open up a box of breakfast
cereal and see these sinful acts literally spelled out for them."

go ahead and take it out as well, since His name doesn't contain
either a D or a V like the evil Devil's name does," she said.

"My three-year-old saw a bunch of D's and V's mixed in with some
J's, and U's and he said out of the blue one morning "Jesus and the

"What should I do?" he asked me.

Since D is now gone, that prevents GOD from sullying those little minds
as well. Perhaps removing J for Jesus and M for Mohammed will follow.
