"Beano" - solution to greenhouse gasses? :-? |
We can seed the atmosphere with various things for various
reasons, and have done it in the past. Is there any sort of known
extremophile that metabolizes greenhouse gasses that could be seeded
into the air? Wouldn't even need to be a very intensive-project, just
equipping standard aircraft to dust the air on its way from A to B
would be pretty simple, I think. Is there any known kind of organism
that would be useful to scatter in such a way? Even if it never made
it to the upper atmosphere, just doing it over land would get it to
the source of the gasses - cities and such. I use "Beano" only as a
symbolic reference to "toxic gas reduction by enzymes", not 'cuz I
think Beano, itself, would actually be useful.
Just querious...

It seems unlikely. There are several known greenhouse gasses, so there
probably is no "one size fits all" type of solution.
In any event, large scale seeding of the environment is not a particularly
good idea. The consequences could be quite unpredictable.
