In today's climate of cultural conflict, the V&A's spectacular new
gallery of artefacts from all across the Islamic world reveals less a
clash of civilisations than a refreshing union of east and west,
discovers Jason Elliot
Saturday July 15, 2006
The Guardian
A transformation has occurred at the V&A. This week, after three years
of renovation and redesign, the new Jameel gallery of Islamic art will
open its doors to the public with a spectacular collection of artefacts
from across the Islamic world, many of which have never before been
seen on display.
The new gallery, dedicated to the memory of its Saudi benefactor, Abdul
Latif Jameel, is both timely and long overdue. Visitors to the V&A's
former Middle Eastern display of Islamic art may recall a confusingly
structured and poorly lit collection of disparate artefacts, overlooked
by the sombre and greenish presence of a giant carpet. This - the
famous Ardabil carpet - was said to be one of the finest Persian
carpets in the world. However, it looked more like something dredged
from a pond.

Hi there fellow atheists. Go to
http://www.faithfreedom.org/gallery.htm
to see a whole lot more artefacts from across the Islamic world --
hangings, beatings, maiming, stonings, lynchings, the glorifying of
terrrorism, self flagellation, and much much more! This gallery
reveals less a clash of civilisations than a refreshing union of
Eastern modernity and Dark Age Christendom.
Oh, wait... Did I say "clash of ~civilisations~"?

Do you have couple of 100s of trillions of dollars in loose change?
Then you can have a 100 year war. The winner, of couse, will be China.
Most of the world isn't going to fund your megalomania.

Not only are the vast majority of your posts off topic in alt.atheism,
but even your responses within threads are heading in the same
direction. I have no idea WTF you're on about (nor what you're on).
Perhaps if one of your little moonbat friends could join the dots for

It's you've who has joined the Bushie fascists.
Fancy that -- a moonbat calling Bush a fascist... That ~must~ be a
first. Dear old bean... if an atheist, like you, did not have so much
tongue wedged up Dirty Ol' Mo's arse, I wouldn't find you and your
remark half as funny.
I support the killing of all fascists, left wing fascists and right
wing fascists, religious and secular, and wholeheartedly support the
"Bushie", too, to the extent he supports killing the same. Islamo
fascism is more savage, more primitive, more totalitarian than
Mussolini's Italy ever was, and I'm glad to see it in Bush's
crosshairs, and, for that matter Israel's crosshairs, too. When a
moonbat like you label's a person fascist for sanctioning the killing
of fascists, well... a moonbat is what a moonbat does, I suppose.
But you should realise that the whole world united to defeat fascism.
Obviously not, dimbulb, else Western Sudan, the Congo Republic,
Zimbabwe, China, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Syria, Hezbollah occupied
Southern Lebanon, Egypt, and Islamist occupied areas along Palestine's
West Bank and Gaza strip - would all be free of it.
In you case, your allies are only neocon fascists and Christian
fundamentalists. Your assertions aren't simple credible. Has China or
India contrbuted any troops or funds for your Christian / neocon
fascist crusade?
How many atheists currently living in Islamic countries are actively
supporting the the "Anti-war movement"? Any at all?
BTW, where are all the Palestinian atheists?
If you can't control
Iraq, how are you going to control the rest of the world?
Actually, what I want is all rights-abiding Iraqis to have control over
their own lives as individuals, and the same for the rest of the world.
LOL. That's what Nazis also said.
*****. Here's proof of the opposite.
In Hitler's Buckereburg speech, Oct 7, 1933: "It is necessary that the
individual should finally come to realise that his own ego is of no
importance in comparison with the existence of the nation; that the
position of the individual ego is conditioned solely by the interests
of the nation as a whole... that above all the unity of a nation's
spirit and will are worth far more than the freedom of the spirit and
the will of an individual..."
....and...
"This state of mind, which subordinates the interests of the individual
ego to the conservation of the community, is really the first premise
for every truely human culture...The basic attitude from which such
activity arises, we call--to distinguish it from egoism and
selfishness--idealism. By this we understand only the individuals
capacity to make sacrifices for the community, for his fellow men."
"There are to be no more private Germans, each is attain significance
only by his service to the state, and to find complete self-fulfillment
in this service."--Friedrich Sieburg.
"To be a Socialist is to submit the I to the Thou; Socialism is
sacrificing the individual to the whole."--Goebbels

China was in the alliance against fascism. Don't they teach you history
in schools? Even the not yet independent came up with 2.5 million
troops.
In you case, your allies are only neocon fascists and Christian
fundamentalists. Your assertions aren't simple credible. Has China or

I'm sure they are still there. Most of the world is not Christians or
Muslims. They don't seem to buy your neoconcon apologetics. That's the
problem.
If you can't control
Iraq, how are you going to control the rest of the world?
Actually, what I want is all rights-abiding Iraqis to have control over
their own lives as individuals, and the same for the rest of the world.

of the nation as a whole... that above all the unity of a nation's

the will of an individual..."
But in Nurembery trials, Nazis came up with similar apologetics The
courts rejected it.
...and...
"This state of mind, which subordinates the interests of the individual
ego to the conservation of the community, is really the first premise
for every truely human culture...The basic attitude from which such

Even majority of the US population now don't seem to buy neocon
apologetics any more. Why would the rest of the world buy your neocon
apologeticsa? Of course, you can still sacrice your life and money for
neocon fascism. But it's stupid.
Tony.
