Object: Believers Flock to 'Crying' Virgin Mary
Many people may poke fun at the beliefs of the faithful, but the truth is
that there would be many converts to Catholicism if many who don't beleive
came to witness one of these miracles in progress. Don't let fear keep you
away.

Believers Flock to 'Crying' Virgin Mary
Carrying rosary beads and cameras, the faithful have been coming in a steady
stream to a church on the outskirts of Sacramento for a glimpse of what some
are calling a miracle: A statue of the Virgin Mary they say has begun crying
a substance that looks like blood.
It was first noticed more than a week ago, when a priest at the Vietnamese
Catholic Martyrs Church spotted a stain on the statue's face and wiped it
away. Before Mass on Nov. 20, people again noticed a reddish substance near
the eyes of the white concrete statue outside the small church, said Ky
Truong, 56, a parishioner.
Since then, Truong said he has been at the church day and night, so
emotional he can't even work. He believes the tears are a sign.
"There's a big event in the future - earthquake, flood, a disease," Truong
said. "We're very sad."

J Young, don't be discouraged by those who ridicule this discovery. They
criticize an event which causes hundreds to grow more balanced in faith, to
grow closer to Christ through His blessed Mother. Let it be known that they
are demons meant to call us away from the gospel that Christ has given us
through His Church and that God has given us through Mary.

Errr, speaking of ridicule:
"The catholic church is, for the most part, totally corrupt. The
perfect prototype of what a religion looks like when man is the
one who creates it. Not to say that people can't find God even

the catholic church is the great mother ***** of religion on planet

I wonder what's so special about this Mary anyway. Jesus didn't even
want to see her:

Believers Flock to 'Crying' Virgin Mary

I have heard about these crying statues before. One way they can work
is that they have a hollow space inside filled with scented oil.
The material they are made from is porous - enough for the oil sealed
inside to slowly make its way out to the eyes where the impermiable
glaze/paint is weakened - perhaps in a spot the size of a pinhead..
It's a cheap trick - but it works!
An even easier trick is that the statues owner pours a little oil on
the statue when no one is looking.

From the references I have see the tears are usually olive oil or

vagatable oil of some sort.
The superstitious and gullible lap this up. ( the con - not the oil!)
Mark.

It's like speaking in tongues - a witness to those who need it. In my
experience, more people have increased their faith due to seeing or hearing
of such miracles than hearing or seeing or speaking in tongues. I don't
have figures, though, and my experience is more within the Catholic world,
but either way, neither is essential, but both do good.

I'm not sure that that encouraging people to accept the authenticity of

qualify as 'doing good' in my book. But then, I have never been able to

What exactly would be the purpose of making a statue cry, considering that
you are ALREADY a believer?
Encouragement?Crying for our sins?

Many people may poke fun at the beliefs of the faithful, but the truth is
that there would be many converts to Catholicism if many who don't
beleive
came to witness one of these miracles in progress. Don't let fear keep you
away.

Believers Flock to 'Crying' Virgin Mary

Carrying rosary beads and cameras, the faithful have been coming in a
steady
stream to a church on the outskirts of Sacramento for a glimpse of what
some
are calling a miracle: A statue of the Virgin Mary they say has begun
crying
a substance that looks like blood.

It was first noticed more than a week ago, when a priest at the Vietnamese
Catholic Martyrs Church spotted a stain on the statue's face and wiped it
away. Before Mass on Nov. 20, people again noticed a reddish substance
near
the eyes of the white concrete statue outside the small church, said Ky
Truong, 56, a parishioner.

Since then, Truong said he has been at the church day and night, so
emotional he can't even work. He believes the tears are a sign.

"There's a big event in the future - earthquake, flood, a disease," Truong
said. "We're very sad."

No...the idea of spending eternity as a servant to J Young in
Catholic Heaven is what keeps me away.
