One of the great men of our time, His Holiness Pope John Paul II the
Great, should be declared a saint by acclamation. This unfortunately
will not happen, but this is a step in the right direction.

Benedict XVI paves way for John Paul to be made a saint
Pope Benedict XVI has announced that his predecessor, John Paul II, who
died on 2 April, could become a saint in unusually quick time.
At the basilica of St John Lateran yesterday he told a gathering of
priests based in Rome that the rule of waiting five years after a
potential saint's death before the initial process of beatification can
start was to be waived in the case of Karol Wojtyla, the first pope
from Poland. The five-year rule had been introduced by John Paul
himself in 1983, to check a bandwagon backing the former Hollywood
actor Grace Kelly for beatification.
The campaign to declare John Paul a saint was gathering momentum even
before he was interred. Prayers addressing him as "Santo Giovanni
Paolo" were placed on a makeshift shrine around a lamppost in St
Peter's Square in the days after his death, and midway through his
funeral a forest of banners shot into the air, demanding "santo
subito!" [make him a saint right now!]

than that of secular society, and what you must realize is that priests,
even though spiritual leaders in the Catholic church, are still men and

Really? Last time I checked, Pope John Paul II is responsible for
initiating, planning, and fueling the largest gathering of youth and persons
in the history of the entire human race, all for the purpose of bringing
glory to God. "My dear young friends, I pray that your faith in Christ will
always be lievely and strong. This way you will always be ready to tell
others the reason for your hope. You will be messengers of hope for the
world."
A man who was a great spiritual leader, who spent all of his life serving
the Church, and all of his life serving God. Almost everyone who has met
him will agree on one thing: He is a man who has a very deep and ongoing
relationship with Christ. He spent most of his day in personal prayer, and
was always willing to sacrifice his personal goals for the betterment of
others. He was willing to do anything he could to stand for the virtues of
God and had a strong zeal for the unity of Catholic youth. I hate to break
it to you, but it worked. Catholic youth ministries are stronger than they
have ever been, Catholic students, especially in America, gathering by the
thousands to live an active and vibrant faith. This is my witness, from
direct observation. As such, it is beyond contestation since I inform you
that I am telling you the truth. The Catholic Church is strong and alive.
It is the hearts of all those who find joy in Christ and all who serve Him
for the greater glory of the Father's Kingdom of Heaven.

you accuse them of lying? Do you know any other word aside from "liar" or
"moron"? The Catholic Church isn't the cause for AIDS, nor is it the reason
AIDS is at pandemic levels in sub-Saharan Africa. The world is looking for
a scape goat. You who are of the world are looking for something to blame
so you can justify sexual immorality. The reason AIDS is such an
international problem is because of sexual immorality. God offers the plan
of sexual morality: Do not fornicate. Do not commit adultery. Homosexual
acts are abomination. Sexual acts outside of marriage are abomination. The
Church stands by this now and always, and we recognize that the blocking of
life through the use of artificial contraception is immoral. Bring it up
with God when you face Him on the day of judgment.

psychology throw around a term "psychopathic" as though it were a valid
insult, when a psychopath is one who suffers from antisocial personality

sin, I feel guilt for my sin. Supporting the truth of God isn't sin. It is
supporting virtue and morality, for that is what God stands for and delivers
to us through the Church.
However, you continue to justify that the solution to AIDS is throwing
condoms in their faces. AIDS is a disease and condoms REDUCE the risk of
transmission. If the condom breaks or isn't used properly, the
effectiveness reduces to zero. Rather, the only true solution is for
individuals to recognize sexual morality as the way to avoid this disease,
for it is an affliction sent upon those who are sexually immoral or victims
of spouses who were sexually immoral (or in the rare case of rape).
Promoting condom-use as a solution to AIDS is like trying to prevent a brush
fire with a squirtgun. It just doesn't work that way. The only way to
prevent the transmission of AIDS is to live a life of sexual morality. Get
this: I do feel sad for the loss of life of those who contract this
disease. I wish it were never to have happened. I recognize, however, that
their contraction of HIV was due to sexual promiscuity.
People are selfish and careless. People who knowingly have this disease and
yet sleep with others are despicably and utterly evil, for they place their
own sexual gratification and lust-sin over the health and well-being of
another human.
