Benny Hinn expose on the CBC |
In case anybody missed it The Fifth Estate, on the CBC (Canada), did a
great expose of Benny Hinn on Wednesday's show. They will probably
repeat it this weekend on CBC Newsworld. For more info see
http://www.cbc.ca/fifth/main_miracles.html
Cripes, that guy lives like a king. Staying at hotels that cost
$10,000/night. Private jets. Fancy cars. Religion is good business.
Oh, but he did give $20 to a homeless woman with a baby, apparently.

Was it the one about the way he uses hypnotism on his audiences?

No, they investigated his finances and his supposed 'healings' of people who
show up to his crusades, how his assistants screen people before they go onto
stage to be 'healed', etc. I wish the CBC would put the entire episode up on
their website.

Yes, one of the easiest ways to get rich in America is to become a TV
evangelist. You know that singer Jessica Simpson? I was shocked to
learn that her comfortable upbringing (very comfortable as she has no
problem spending money like water) is a result of her father being a
preacher. A preacher?!? Come again? I thought they were suppossed
to live amongst the meek and serve the poor. Not in America, being a
preacher is one of the easiest ways to become rich and live the good
life. Benny Hinn is just another example of this.

He can write it off on his taxes.
Oh, wait. He doesn't pay taxes, does he?

A fantastic con. Where does the money come from? From ordinary people
who may be looking at their jobs being outsourced. Others who think
that a tithe to the church is more important than good heath
insurance. Ordinary people who make sacrifices in various ways so that
Benny Hinn can live like a king. A king and who delivers false hope by
channelling a fairy.
