Passengers Duct-Tape Troublesome Traveler Passengers and Air Marshal
Subdue Unruly Traveler With Duct-Tape on Flight From Hawaii to L.A.
The Associated Press
LOS ANGELES Sept. 14 -
Airplane passengers and an air marshal subdued and then duct-taped a man
who was pacing the aisle and reading loudly from the Bible during a flight
from Hawaii, police and witnesses said.
No one was injured, and the man was handed over to authorities after the
plane landed at Los Angeles International Airport early Sunday, said Sgt.
Carl Sansbury of the airport police.
Sansbury said he didn't know what prompted the outburst on the United
Airlines flight from Honolulu. He said the FBI was investigating.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, could be charged with
interfering with a flight crew, a federal offense, Sansbury said.

If the guy was preaching in Arabic and reading from the Koran I'll bet he
would have been tackled by a dozen people.

Well, In the absense of any _other_ world religions that are constantly
used to justify the horrific murders of as many Americans/Westerns and in
general dedicate to the destruction of Western civilization, seems like a
reasonable reaction.

That's an utterly excessive charge, if the man really was just pacing up
and down the aisle and reading aloud from his Bible.
If I recall, "interfering with a flight crew" is a felony-level, federal
offense that can bring up to 20 years in prison.

The law considers "flight crew" to be anyone working in the plane
while it's flying. In almost every airliner today, standing in the
aisle is interfering with the flight attendants.

I bet they put the duct tape over his mouth.

What got me while reading the story is when the loon took of to "help"
the family traveling with the baby.
Some lunatic who is ignoring orders to return to his seat, is
preaching in a loud voice, and in general acting like a nutter is
going to get the entire benefit of my military hand-to-hand training.
