Object: Biblical creationist disputes latest 'proof' for evolution
http://www.onenewsnow.com/2007/04/biblical_creationist_disputes.php
A former evolutionist who now heads a biblical creationist ministry
says the recent discovery of DNA in a dinosaur bone does not prove
evolution, as many scientists have claimed. Recently, scientific
journals and secular news sources reported that bits of protein taken
from a dinosaur bone provided the first genetic proof that the T-Rex
is a distant cousin to the modern chicken.
Dr. Grady McMurtry, president of Creation Worldview Ministries, says
the discovery offers proof for a young Earth. "Now first of all, let's
think about this. Most molecular biologists will tell you that DNA
could not possibly exist for more than 10,000 years," he notes. So,
since evolutionists believe DNA does not last millions of years, he
says the discovery of DNA in a dinosaur bone is consistent with the
biblical account of creation.
Scientists who discovered the DNA are not telling the entire story,
McMurtry asserts. "If one really looks at the science behind what they
found today, evolutionists talk about chimpanzees and humans being ...
99 percent the same genetically," he says, "but what they fail to tell
the public is that they're only looking at three percent of the total
genome."
Evolutionists failed to report that they only used a small amount of
the dinosaur DNA for comparison, that "they're only looking at three
percent of all the DNA," the scientist contends. And media
journalists, he says, often do not check the facts, as "most
journalists today are not good reporters. They're not investigative
reporters even though they will claim to be investigative reporters."
The fact of the matter is that for many reporters, evolution "is what
they were taught; this is what they believe," McMurtry asserts. "So
when they get something, they immediately want to accept it and --
number two -- write about it as if they had checked into it, and they
haven't," he says. "So these people are simply into a political
agenda."
According to the Bible's account in Genesis, Chapter One, dinosaurs
were created on day five and day six of creation week and lived with
man until the Flood of Noah, McMurtry points out. After the Flood, he
says dinosaurs were at a disadvantage for survival and most dinosaur
species became extinct during the next several hundred years.

Absolutely false. DNA (is if there were only one type) can survive in
teeth for 50,000 or perhaps 100,000 years. However, it was collagen, not
DNA, which was sequenced from the T-rex (and a 100,000 year old mastadon
fossil). Naturally, creationists can't be bothered to even have a
passing familiarity with the research that they claim to be commenting

A former evolutionist who now heads a biblical creationist ministry

No such thing occurred. I wonder if he does not understand the
difference between DNA and protein or if he simply read a newspaper
account rather than the original paper.

does not prove
evolution, as many scientists have claimed.

I doubt that anyone claimed at all that it proved evolution. It was
taken as more evidence of the relationship between dinosaurs and
birds.

Recently, scientific
journals and secular news sources reported that bits of protein taken
from a dinosaur bone provided the first genetic proof that the T-Rex
is a distant cousin to the modern chicken.

So he did know about it being protein. Why did he say DNA?

I see: he made up that they found DNA so he could claim that it meant
that the bones were young. Then he spread his lie and you have helped
spread it further.

Scientists who discovered the DNA are not telling the entire story,
McMurtry asserts. "If one really looks at the science behind what they
found today, evolutionists talk about chimpanzees and humans being ...
99 percent the same genetically," he says, "but what they fail to tell
the public is that they're only looking at three percent of the total
genome."

That is also a lie. Why do you help spread lies?

Dr. Grady McMurtry, president of Creation Worldview Ministries, says
the discovery offers proof for a young Earth. "Now first of all, let's
think about this. Most molecular biologists will tell you that DNA
could not possibly exist for more than 10,000 years," he notes. So,

Tell us, J fucking Young, if some moron from your sect tells you
tomorow that the Earth is flat, are you going to annoy us with that as
well?
Since all you send are simple "copy and paste", I'm wondering: are you
capable of one intelligent and original thought or can you only
understand and accept pre-chewed ideas?
Why are you such a pathetic moron, J Young? Don't you get tired to be
laughed at every fucking day?

A doctor of squat, no doubt, who has no academic qualifcations in
anything he pontificates upon. But that's never stopped the theists
from blathering, has it?

says the recent discovery of DNA in a dinosaur bone does not prove
evolution, as many scientists have claimed.

No one claimed any such thing.

Recently, scientific
journals and secular news sources reported that bits of protein taken
from a dinosaur bone provided the first genetic proof that the T-Rex
is a distant cousin to the modern chicken.

They said of the organisms they tested, the chicken is the closest
match. This is a fact.

Lie.

Scientists who discovered the DNA are not telling the entire story,
McMurtry asserts. "If one really looks at the science behind what they
found today, evolutionists talk about chimpanzees and humans being ...
99 percent the same genetically," he says, "but what they fail to tell
the public is that they're only looking at three percent of the total
genome."

Lie.

Evolutionists failed to report that they only used a small amount of
the dinosaur DNA for comparison, that "they're only looking at three
percent of all the DNA," the scientist contends.

Lie. This was made perfectly clear in what the scientists published,
Just because the media doesn't give every little detail doesn't mean
they lied. It means those who think they lied and post messages to
that effect on Usenet are profound idiots who need to read more and
swallow less.

And media
journalists, he says, often do not check the facts, as "most
journalists today are not good reporters. They're not investigative
reporters even though they will claim to be investigative reporters."

This from someone who is lying? LoL!

And when you have as much evidence for that as real science has
uncovered for Evolution, you can blather about it.
