Object: Bill Clinton a standard the right is trying to meet.
I see that for every criticisim of Bush is met with a proof that our
great exPresident also said or did the same thing. So that would make
the Clinton Administration a moral standard that the right is trying
to meet.

When Clinton was accused of sexual harrassment and adultery one of the main
defenses put up by the Democrats was "these Republicans did it too!". If
it's good enough for the Democrats...

Pure slander.

So what?

one of the main defenses put up by the Democrats was
"these Republicans did it too!".

*****.
That's a lie. You might have heard or seen that, but it was
hardly "the" or even "a" main defense.
The fact was that it didn't matter. It was irrelevant. It's not a
crime to be a bad President, and there's no excuse for the
"Whitewater" investigator even looking into it.

So the only way you can make sense is if, through a psychotic
episode, we imagine Larry Flynt to be Clinton's chief defender?
Amazing.

I see.
And what position did Larry Flynt hold in the government at the time?
Or was he employed by the Democratic National Committee?
Or was he just a renowned loudmouth speaking on his own?
Did you know that the GOP endorses killing bald eagles? Really!

Deep in the throws of your insanity, having now decided that to not

Going by your argument (if I may call it that), you have just proven

Oh please, you toss labels around with abandon when it suits you, so
spare me the phony outrage.

So.. you admit that it wasn't Flynt who made the charges, but women
who actually had been in the same position under Republicans? (choice
of words intentional.)

Gosh, God forbid Larry Flynt use his resources to expose hypocracy!

So you admit that the Democrats were explicitly using the "you
hypocrites" defense on Clinton's behalf?

No, the same claim as you. "X party said this" when actually it was
person Y, who happens to be a member of X.

Party X took Flynt's floozie up on the deal after his $$ brought her
in.

And who paid for Paula's lawyers, hotels, and nose job again?

That was *after* she made the original charges. She didn't come forward
to collect some bounty.

She said, after the whole thing died down that she had been used by
the right wing. I still remember her driving away from reporters in
someone's Mercedes Benz to workout at someone's club.
I never understood the charge that Clinton dropped his pants and asked
Paula to kiss it. Clinton has been portrayed by the right as a real
ladies man. I don't think that approach would work even with Paula, in
fact I think Paula probably was delighted to have sex with the
Governor himself.
Remember the, according to right wingers, dirty ***** who force
Paula to pose topless? Remember Paula's Playboy spread? Remember brave
little Paula fighting Tanya Harding on that reality TV show. Yup name
something that Paula wouldn't do for money.

Pure slander.

So what?

one of the main defenses put up by the Democrats was "these Republicans
did it too!".

*****.

That's a lie. You might have heard or seen that, but it was hardly "the"
or even "a" main defense.

The fact was that it didn't matter. It was irrelevant. It's not a crime to
be a bad President, and there's no excuse for the "Whitewater"
investigator even looking into it.

Hm, let's see...
Back then we were at relative peace, had a booming economy, and a budget
surplus. But a president who couldn't keeps his pants zipped.
Now we have a president that appears to keep his pants zipped. But we're
at war, have an economy with a job market worse than anything seen since
the great depression itself, and a budget deficit that is reaching record
numbers.
Which would I prefer?
Hm.
Boy, hard choice huh?

If one ***** in 8 years qualifies as "Can't keep your pants zipped."

Now we have a president that appears to keep his pants zipped.

"Appears."

I try to laugh, but I caught the Mclaughlin Group on PBS. All the
regular Bushbots were peeing themselves with delight over the
latest economic figures (published by the same people who've
been caught red-handed inventing economic figures) showing that
Bush is only 1.6 million jobs away from a net gain of *Zero*
jobs in four years. Another 1.6 million jobs created and that'll
mean the country has had a net gain of *Zero* jobs for Bush's
four years.
Never mind the people who were already unemployed, or the
100,000 jobs a month they had to create to cover the people
entering the work force. Never mind the 4.4 million looking
for jobs but not counted as unemployed because they're working
part-time (without benefits) to stay alive. Never mind the millions
of elderly that are trying to re-enter the work force because they
can't afford to live on pensions and pay for drugs.

Which would I prefer?

I'd trade all of Bush's "Success" to have the WTC back.

Hm.

Boy, hard choice huh?

More like "Hard to stomach."

Well, let's grant he was a promiscuous lech as they try to style it. I'm
trying to figure out just how upset to be over it. As opposed to, oh,
being misled right into a war, the budget going utterly out of control,
the economy going into the toilet...

Yes. Think of it. His inspiring goal he could accomplish by election time
is to just not be the second coming of Herbert Hoover. Awesome ain't it?

I see we're back to a labor force participation level that is about what
it was when his daddy was in office.
We really got a second helping. I remember telling people "remember what
happened last time you put one of those idiots in the White House?" It's
amazing to me how much we went right back to the Bush years. Another war
with Iraq. Another recession with a jobless recovery. The deficit is back
out of control. Congressional spending increases are back in the double
digits. Damn near eerie.

Which would I prefer?

You know, I never liked Clinton. I really, really did not like that man.
I will *always hate Bush Jr. for making me miss him...

I am under the impression that all of Bushes advisors are from daddy's
administration. The only one different is the President.
