So did anyone else manage to catch Christopher
Hitchens and George Galloway on Bill Maher's
show?
George Galloway was great, but it's too bad that
Bill Maher had the bad sense of allowing
Christopher Hitchens on the show...
Seriously. Besides being dishonest, he was
literally trying to filibuster! He even stooped
so low as to take to coughing while George
Galloway was speaking.
But, more than anything, the show really
highlighted Bill Maher's faults. The man
simply isn't as smart & well informed as he's
convinced himself. Not only is it quite
common for Bill Maher to pronounce as fact
things that are completely wrong, but he
allows sleaze bags, like Christopher Hitchens,
to take advantage of his blind spot, remaining
unchallenged as they spew lie after lie.
For example, according to Hitchens, the
issue between Thomas Jefferson and the
Barbary pirates had nothing to do with money.
They weren't trying to exact tribute, they
were cold, cruel criminals encouraged by
the Koran to rob, murder & enslave good
Christians.
Maher, not being as smart as he thinks he is,
allowed Hitchens to spew his ***** several
times.... unchallenged. And he certainly never
once tried to counter any of Hitchens' efforts
to dominate the talk.
