Bill O'Really! is a despicable... a despicable...
Well, I'm not sure exactly what he is, but
he is thoroughly despicable. He is also
loathesome and lower than a snake's belly.
He wasn't even willing to check out Edward's
facts or he would quickly have found out that
what Edwards said is 100% true. O'Really! is
more concerned with being right (even if he
is totally wrong) than the the facts. In other
words, he doesn't give a damn about our
homeless, injured and sick veterans. All he
cares about is himself and saving his awful
show.

It was one of the most repellent and revealing spectacles to hear
multimillionaire conservative talk show host Bill O'Reilly virtually deny
the existence of large numbers of homeless vets.
In his scorched-earth attack on John Edwards for calling for help for the
homeless veterans living on grates and in poverty, O'Reilly hit a new low
that is almost impossible to fully comprehend.
Does O'Reilly not understand that the problem of homeless vets is very
severe, and beginning to rise again with the return of veterans from Iraq
and Afghanistan with severe psychological trauma and physical wounds?
Or is O'Reilly merely using homeless vets as the petty cash of another
cheap-shot attack by a right-wing mouthpiece who doesn't care whether his
words are true, to make his point between commercials, from sponsors who
should call him on the carpet for this?
Perhaps Mr. O'Reilly can take a first-class flight to Washington, and before
he checks in to his four-star hotel, prior to his opining during dinner at a
five-star restaurant, he might ask his limousine driver to give him a guided
tour of this city, where he would easily find the homeless vets this
homeless-vet denier does not know exist.
Let's forget O'Reilly, part of the freak show cavalcade that now passes for
entertainment and news in some outposts on cable television.
The issue is homeless vets, the problem is a moral and patriotic crisis for
our generation, and the solution is to give these homeless heroes the love,
attention and support they have earned.
In my column this past Tuesday in The Hill, I proposed a very modest profits
tax on oil companies that would increase the size of the "stimulus" by
adding, among other things, new support for homeless veterans.
At various times, on this site and in columns, I have proposed a Soldier
Bond, or Patriot Bond, that would be modeled after the U.S. Savings Bond and
raise capital that would support homeless and disabled vets, and wounded
troops.
We should do these things. It would be swell if Mr. O'Reilly would lend his
loud but not always wise voice to these efforts, but whether he does or not,
we as a country and people must do this.
Every one of us should be part of this effort. It is a moral duty of our
generation, and we must do so with words that are true, actions that are
real, and a patriotic commitment that is shared.

As a gift to the Vets, they get to decide who kicks his ***** back to the

There is what the Buffalo Beast suggested when he made the "50 Most
Loathsome People in America" list.
(2007) 23. Bill O'Reilly
Charges: If judgmentalism were sugar, anyone in the same city as this
paragon of intellectual overconfidence would lose their teeth within
five minutes. O'Reilly is everything that's wrong with America: Won't
ever admit he was wrong about anything (and will lie repeatedly rather
than correct himself), accuses all who disagree with him of treason or
insanity, attacks all who criticize him, and glories in his own
troglodytic bluster. Anoints himself an authority on morals, despite
common knowledge that he is a sexual harasser. Pretends to be an
"independent" who just happens to look, sound, and act exactly like a
Republican. Hasn't engaged in a valid exchange of ideas in his entire
career, because he knows he'd be crushed in seconds by an average
college freshman. O'Reilly wins by interrupting, shouting, and if all
else fails, cutting off his opponent's microphone. A tiny, scared
child of a man.
Exhibit A: "And this is what white America doesn't know, particularly
people who don't have a lot of interaction with black Americans. They
think that the culture is dominated by Twista, Ludacris, and Snoop
Dogg." Gee Bill, where would they get that idea?
Sentence: Marinated, barbecued, and served at Sylvia's restaurant in
Harlem, where the blacks eat just like real people.
(2005) 10. Bill O'Reilly
Charges: Even Limbaugh must bow before O'Reilly's unparalleled
bullying skills and ability to deliver undiluted ***** with an air
of brusque authority. O'Reilly is so comfortable with his astounding
hypocrisy that he didn't skip a beat when he was publicly revealed to
be a comically perverse sexual harasser, continuing to sanctimoniously
moralize about the corrosive effects of rap music and intellectualism
on American society. Main tactic against his critics, whose jobs rank
among the easiest in the world, is to accuse them of his own methods:
arbitrary smears, selective quotation, partisan motivation, and
intellectual cowardice. Infuriatingly claims to be a political
"independent" who just happens to parrot virtually every Republican
talking point and equate mainstream liberals with Nazis and
Stalinists. Claimed his call for abandoning San Francisco to al Qaeda
bombing was "satirical," which is itself the funniest thing he's ever
said. An honest to goodness list-making Joe McCarthy wannabe, with the
ACLU standing in for the Communist Party.
Exhibit A: O'Reilly's novel, Those Who Trespass, which reads like an
eighth grade writing assignment, is about a blustery news
correspondent, demoted from foreign correspondence to less prestigious
work (as O'Reilly was when he moved from ABC News to Inside Edition),
who murders a string of colleagues he feels have hindered his career.
"I kill you on page six," he told Charlie Gibson on Good Morning
America.
Sentence: After O'Reilly's influence fundamentally changes the nature
of jurisprudence, he is tortured and jailed for life when it is
discovered that he once leafed through a copy of the Communist
Manifesto as a teen.
(2002) 29. BILL O'REILLY
Misdeeds: At least Rush Limbaugh was funny every now and then. This
new monster deals in untrammeled viciousness and invective, and his
"Talking Points" help the Great Beast out there to reduce the entire
world to six-word bulletins. He does a lot of waving and snorting at
his guests whenever they disagree with him. To watch him is to be
inspired to thrilling hatred, which may explain his ratings success,
beyond the fact that 90% of the public buys him as real journalism.
Aggravating Factor: Claimed on the air that his former show, "Inside
Edition," won a Peabody award when it didn't; assailed Tom Arnold for
allowing highly entertaining former criminal Michael Irvin on "The
Best Damn Sports Show, Period."
Aesthetic: Brothel customer who won't pay a dollar over the list
price, occasionally gets rough and takes a long time.

If Bush wouldn't squander our tax dollars on his pointless war, there
would not only be fewer homeless vets, but we would have enough money to
help these brave men and women.

Perhaps Mr. O'Reilly can take a first-class flight to Washington, and befo=

Let's forget O'Reilly, part of the freak show cavalcade that now passes fo=

In my column this past Tuesday in The Hill, I proposed a very modest profi=

We should do these things. It would be swell if Mr. O'Reilly would lend hi=

Bill is a terrible person but who is counting these homeless vets?

I believe the current count of homeless vets (~250,000) comes directly
from the Veterans Administration, IOW, from da gubmint itsownself.
