One article I read said that nations have been stocking up on the drug
that has just now been rendered useless. I guess those stocks are
useless now.

All of which reminded me of a favourite quotation of creationists:
"Scientists in China have discovered ancient bacteria that cast doubt
on Darwin's theory, and have published papers stating this. One of
them, Jian Yuan Chan, said, 'In China, we can criticize Darwin, but we
cannot criticize the government. In the US you can criticize the

Perhaps, if the Chinese had spent more time criticizing their
government and less criticizing Darwin they might have realised what
they were doing.

The following post entitled
"我们现在的政府不喜用兵,也不敢用兵,所以我们不仅在内活的憋屈,在外也尽受别人欺负"
http://www.qglt.com/bbs/ReadFile?whichfile=11275693&typeid=14
was posted in the discussion forum of the People's Daily several
minutes ago.
The poster complained that the current Chinese government doesn't like
to use military force and dare not use military force. Hence, not only
are the Chinese people suppressed inside China, they are bullied by
other peoples outside the country.

But that creationist quote makes me wonder. Why on earth should anyone give
credence to the idea that you cannot criticize Darwin in the US, when
scientists like Behe and Dawkins do so all of the time, and with no ill
effects other than the enrichment of their pockets (and the demonstration
that their world view is more important that truth or evidence)?
Pretending that one doesn't have the freedom or ability to do what one is
actually doing is ludicrous.
Similarly, fundamentalists have devoted huge resources to criticism of
Darwin and anyone else who speaks any kind of favorable word about
evolution. They not only can do it, the present administration is doing its
utmost to encourage them in it.

I think his point is one cannot criticize Darwinism without being
considered a moronic creationist or a christian fundamentalist. BTW, I
don't aware that Richard Dawkin had criticized Darwin in the sense that
he is trying to prove Darwinism wrong. Can you be more specific?
