Tuesday night Jon Stewart referred to "the blame game" as
the phrase Republicans use to demean the concept of
accountability.
The wording might be a bit off, but it's pretty close.
Best, Marc

As a NOLA native who is currently living a little farther east, IMHO,
Stewart was spot on in his observations....
I and mine have been extremely lucky, as my family was able to get out in
time...my folks' home is in Jefferson parish and was spared the worst of the
flooding...the extended family is over most of Terrebonne parish and the
same can be said for them as well...
But as the floodwaters are pumped out and recede, the horrors of the dead
will be uncovered...and ongoing prayers for those families will be needed
and appreciated...
Not to mention that long after this receds from front page news, the area
will long be recovery....the last "big one"--Hurricane Besty--hit 40 years
ago this month when I was but a few months old. I remember that there were
areas of NOLA that were still being rebuilt when I was starting
kindergarten....
