I went through a list of 1994-1995 banned books and some of the claims
that the fundy Christian extremists spew about why they have to be
pulled from the shelves (or even burned in some cases) is outrageous --
both in stupidity and in funny.
"Boys and Sex" by Wardell B. Pomeroy, pulled from library shelves
from the Rangely, Colorado Middle School, along with "Girls and Sex."
What's curious is that my own library has the first one classified
in the Psychology section at DDS 301.411 whereas the second one the
books is classified in the Human Sexuality / Health section at DDS
612.6.
What's going on? Why is a book on boys and sex in Psychology where as
girls and sex is placed in Health?
