Evangelist Says God Told Him Tsunami Might Hit U.S. This Year
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., May 18, 2006
(AP) In another in a series of notable pronouncements, religious
broadcaster Pat Robertson says God told him storms and possibly a
tsunami will hit America's coastline this year.
Robertson has made the predictions at least four times in the past two
weeks on his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the
Christian Broadcasting Network, which he founded.
Robertson said the revelations about this year's weather came to him
during his annual personal prayer retreat in January.
"If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be
lashed by storms," Robertson said May 8. On Wednesday, he added,
"There well may be something as bad as a tsunami in the Pacific
Northwest."
Robertson has come under intense criticism in recent months for
suggesting that American agents should assassinate Venezuelan
President Hugo Chavez and that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's
stroke was divine retribution for Israel's pullout from the Gaza
Strip.

**-In regards to Pat Robertsons claim that God told him that he would
die unless he received $20 million by March, God's lawyers have stated
that their client has not spoken with Roberts for several years. Off
the record, God has stated that ``If I had wanted to ice the little

I think Robertson is in serious need of therapy.
But the startling thought is, that the same logic that drives Robertson to
make his pronouncements, is the same that Bush uses to "guide" this country.

It wasn't Pat Robertson who claimed that God was going to "take him

Its hard to keep your religous kooks and what they mumble straight.
Here's one quote Pat Roberton made according to CBS referring to the
last election.
"I think George Bush is going to win in a walk. I'm hearing from the
Lord that it's going to be a blowout."
"If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be
lashed by storms," Robertson said May 8. On Wednesday, he added,
"There well may be something as bad as a tsunami in the Pacific
Northwest."
If anyone still needs more proof this hate filled wannabe religious
phony is a both a village idiot and world class kook, just remember
he's the asswipe that also said we should assassinate Venezuelan
President Hugo Chavez.
Other selected stupid quotes from Robertson. There are hundreds more
from this wacko that thinks they own the Republican Pary. Hmmm seems
that actually do now!
"I think we ought to close Halloween down. Do you want your children
to dress up as witches? The Druids used to dress up like this when
they were doing human sacrifice... [Your children] are acting out
Satanic rituals and participating in it, and don't even realize
it."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 10/29/82
"I am bound by the laws of the United States and all 50 states...I am
not bound by any case or any court to which I myself am not a
party...I don't think the Congress of the United States is subservient
to the courts...They can ignore a Supreme Court ruling if they so
choose."--Pat Robertson, Washington Post, June 27,1986)
"The mission of the Christian Coalition is simple," says Pat
Robertson. It is "to mobilize Christians -- one precinct at a time,
one community at a time -- until once again we are the head and not
the tail, and at the top rather than the bottom of our political
system." NewYorker Magazine 8/18/86
"You say you're supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the
Presbyterians and the Methodists and this, that, and the other thing.
Nonsense. I don't have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist. I
can love the people who hold false opinions but I don't have to be
nice to them."--Pat Robertson, The 700 Club, January 14, 1991
(talking about Planned Parenthood) "It is teaching kids to fornicate,
teaching people to have adultery, every kind of bestiality,
homosexuality, lesbianism-everything that the Bible condemns."--Pat
Robertson, "The 700 Club," 4/9/91
"The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about
a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to
leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft,
destroy capitalism, and become lesbians." -- Pat Robertson,
fundraising letter, 1992
"I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get
married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ
is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife,
and that's the way it is, period."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club,"

now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the
same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic
Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to
destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the
worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More
terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history."--Pat
Robertson, 1993 interview with Molly Ivins

Constitution. It is a lie of the Left and we are not going to take it
anymore." --Pat Robertson, November 1993 during an address to the

Notice when Robertson makes one of his "inspired" pronouncements such as you
quoted:
"There well may be something as bad as a tsunami in the Pacific Northwest."
Robertson is doing nothing more than stating a possibility. That is far
removed from a prediction. Robertson is in serious need of therapy.
We would all be better off if people like Bush and Robertson were to simply
fade into the background and spend their remaining days fishing on a lake in
Minnesota. (No slur intended on the fine state of MN)

Robertson has made the predictions at least four times in the past two

Let us not forget that Robertson claimed to have diverted a hurricane with a

Another time a hurricane did make landfall but it unexpectedly reduced
in strength shortly before landfall. So damage was less than
expecteded. He claimed his prayers did that too.
Funny how these claims are always after the fact. You never hear: 'I
will divert this upcoming hurricane with prayer'.

God can change his mind. Look what he did in the case of Jesus and The
New Testament? Upon the fall of Adam, people had no salvation and no
way to get to heaven when they died, unless they followed a zillion
laws/rules. God got tired of this and sent Jesus as a saviour.
My question is why didn't he just send Jesus in the first place and
prevent the death of all those lost souls who came before???
Ok...so now we are waiting for someone/something to fly out of the sky
and take all our troubles away. Of course we couldn't get up off our
asses and solve some of these issues ourselves, we have to wait for GOD
to do it. IMO, that's a sin right there.

Because the Intelligent Designer forgot to institute adequate quality

sonny boy, who was a little hard of hearing, misheard Dad's instruction
to 'nail these changes in place' and instead was nailed in a public

Whoa, whoa, whia, whoa-a-a-a! That's not accurate. The correct
statement is:
Let us not forget that Robertson ACTUALLY DID DIVERT a hurricane with
a
prayer.
If you're going to say it, say it right dude.

Did Jehovah mention anything about who's gonna win the Preakness?
"Look, all I said was that this fish was good enough for Jehovah."
"Stop saying 'Jehovah'! You're only making it worse for yourself!"
"You're going to stone me to death, how could it be any worse?
'Jehovah!' 'Jehovah'!"

Let's see. We have dissonent nations in the southern hemisphere, with
which we have sustantial political disagreement.
Why not kill their leaders?
Sounds Pat-Robertson-variety Christian to me.
I predict there will be a mini-tsunami that will show up in Pat
Robertson's bedroom and take him straight to hell for his
misrepresentation of Christian teachings during his time on earth.
Or perhaps Pat has mistaken his uncontrollable gas for a tsunami? Now,
there's a threat to our national security!

Meanwhile, in other news, God continues to smite the midwest with
tornadoes. "I'll keep it up", He says, "until those nut job bible belt
fundies finally get the message I've been sending them for thousands of
years."

So, let's get this straight. Hurricane season is approaching and there
might be a hurricane. People actually watch and listen to this crap?
What next? This winter, in New York, there might be some snow?

Strip.

Wow, *storms*! I mean, who would expect rain in the Pacific Northwest?

Yes, but Robertson is attributing the coming coast lashing to God's
anger over gay marriage and not the increased global warming occurring
from Robertson's followers driving around in their world-destroy SUV's.
Robertson is just another hate-filled talking head of this regime who is
earning his keep by keeping his followers ignorant, greedy, fearful, and
filled with hate. In other words, he's a good Xian.
Also, about Hugo Chavez, who does a better job of follow Jesus'
teachings than Kill-the-Heathens Robertson, this Saturday we are having
demonstrations in DC and Los Angeles:
Hands off Venezuela & Cuba!
START DATE: 5/20/2006
START TIME: 12:00 PM
March from Federal Bldg at 300 North Los Angeles to Placito Olvera.

If a tsunami happens in the Pacific Northwest, it will probably have
more to do with the Cascadia subduction zone than Robertson's fairy
tale character.

Apparently Pat "Douchebag for Christ" Robertson and his feeble-minded
flock are unaware that storms don't cause tsunamis.
