Object: British TV-The Second Coming
Just finished watching the British TV series (miniseries? movie?) titled The
Second Coming. Halfway through I was worried about where it was going, but
the payoff at the end was philosophically great!
If you can get it, check it out.

I agree!
The show is absolutely brilliant.
The writter is Russell T Davis also writes/produces the new Dr Who
series - all the stuff I have seen from this guy is smart and original
and just a little "bent".
8-)
The lead actor Christopher Eckelston (sp?) is also excellent.

You guys are sooo out of date. The new Doctor Who is David Tennant (he
played Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter 4). He took a bit of warming
up to, but I like him better than Eccleston, and he's arguably much
more hubba hubba. The second series with Tennant is also Billie
Piper's last.
Plus there appears to be a spin-off called "Torchwood' in the works,
featuring Captain Jack Harkness, a character from the last few episodes
of the Eccleston series. "Torchwood" is touched on in the new Doctor
Who series, and is actually an anagram od Doctor Who.
I haven't seen "The Second Coming" but it's now on my list! Thanks for
the heads up.
Russell Davies is definitely talented. He's from Wales. His cv is

We haven't seen the second series here and I don't know when they'll get
round to it. I was leery of Eccleston leaving. I was never a Doctor Who
fan until this new one and it was mostly him and Piper and their interplay
that won me over.
I *wish they'd get things in sync. Why they don't just put the UK channels
on satellite (though, yeah, a time delay given the time zones) instead of
feeding us Disney run, ad bloated pablum like BBC America is beyond me. I
am *really tired of the way Disney hacks the hell out of what they do give
us. There were a couple of interesting shows they must have severely
butchered as I gave up on them because they made no *sense.
Sigh.
